Both of these shows start with a similar feel. The horror/mystery at school. They both have a similar seriousness to them, but Another will stick more to the horror theme, while Dusk Maiden will be more sillier at times and move to a more romantic plot. However, I suspect that if you like one you might like the other, keeping in mind these differences.

Doomoo Doomoo says...

Both are deal with mysteries surrounding the female lead and both deal with spirits. They also have a dark tone to them while also retaining some lighthearted moments of comedy. They have very similar settings also. It's not hard to see how you could enjoy one if you enjoyed the other.

ladyOfD ladyOfD says...

Both have a similar feel, both quite dark, though Dusk Maiden is often more light-hearted, both extremely good animes and both worth watching for anyone who likes the supernatural!!

galpal galpal says...

Both anime have a scary atmosphere and a mystery to keep you invested in th plot. The male leads are quite generic but the female leads are brilliant charecters.

Hello.

I want to tell you about Tasogare Otome x Amnesia. This anime prety nice. I watched it few days ago and I can't forget it.. The characters, story line, soundtrack, draw - it is really nice. This anime have only 12 epizodes + 1 ova. It will be boring in began, but about 9-10 epizodes it comes much much better than you think. I recommend you watch anime or reed manga, this anime will  touch your hurt. I don't like animes like this one, but it - the best of the best. Now it my TOP1 anime, it better than Death note, Full Methal Alchemist, Kuroko basketball and many others.

About Another - this anime nice too. First 5 epizodes will be boring, next 7 - prety nice.

Have good time with this animes.

ABZU ABZU says...

Another features a male and female character lead in a school sort of working together to figure out the school/s mystery. Tasogare features the exact same thing. Both are very touching stories. If you watch one, watch the other. Tasogare has some more echii scenes - though it is not marked as such, so fair warning there

LordYorf LordYorf says...

They're both mysterious and have horror aspects. However one is a bit more...gorey and the other one, not so much. I recommend both.

Normal schoolboy develops a romance with a supernatural horror-themed girl? Check. Manages to develop deep themes, eery auras, and love-stories that break the cliches involving characters you care for? Check. Interesting visual styles and musical choices? Check. These two surprises both hit the airwaves in Spring 2012, and while they shared the above similarities, they were very different in plots, tone, and styles. Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is the at times tragic, at times comical, love story involving a ghost. Sankarea is the bizarre and disturbing love story involving zombies. Both are fresh and massively entertaining. Give them a shot.

Funari Funari says...

A human schoolboy and a girl who has died but then came back. Tasogare and Sankarea's main themes were quite similar, in addition to which they both also paid attention to practical problems involving such a romance. Whether it was a problem with public displays of affection in Tasogare or trying to figure out how to slow down decay in Sankarea, they both deconstruct the idea of the "cute ghost girl". Both also balance between the feeling that the couple's love will eventually end when the girl passes on and the hope that the status quo can be preserved somehow.

Doomoo Doomoo says...

These both revolve around a boy and a girl who is not quiet human. Both deal with the dynamics of a relationship that was never meant to be and death. not to mention the female leads lood similar. Anyway if you like the angle one takes on supernatural relationships you may also enjoy the other.

KingArthur13th KingArthur13th says...

A romance between a slightly naive boy and a dead girl. The  heroine of Dusk Miaden of Amnesia is a ghost while in Sankarea, it's a zombie. Both of the male leads in these two series look after the heroine while attempting to find a solution to allow these undead girls to live a happy life. Dusk Maiden of Amnesia is much more dramatic than Sankarea but if you enjoy one series, you will definitely enjoy the other.

Januri Januri says...

Both have a supernatural aspect to them, and both are about an impossible love between different creatures. They're both romantic and also have their funny moments.

Astofolio Astofolio says...

The romance with ecchi touch which focuses only on one and main ship. Both anime are way too much similar. And both has veey depressing yet masterpiece level ending. So, it's highly recommended

Supernatural elements, mystery, ghosts who won't rest, twists in plot, comedy introducing the characters giving way to drama as we delve deep into their pasts. Both Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and Angel Beats! have all these in common. And they're both excellent shows in their own rights. If you enjoyed one, I'm sure you'll enjoy the other.

GodLobster GodLobster says...

Both animes have a simular plot, and is very serious, but has a twist of humor and romance.

And of cause it is filled with charecters you cannot do nothing but love

snivets snivets says...

It was hard for me to classify either of these shows into a single genre; both are a blend of school life, action, and something darker. The pace in both is similar, with the dark parts of the plot barely being hinted at until, in the end, dark truths are revealed.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

So to start both anime follow a plot of life and death and romance in life but also while dead. They have mystery and drama features. The whole story is based around two characters who's feelings for each other grow throughout the series. In Tasogare it is Yuuko and Teiiichi and in Angel Beats it is Kanade and Otonashi. So I think if you liked one you should enjoy the other.

galpal galpal says...

The main charecters  of both shows are deceased and have no memory of how they died or who they where when they died.

Both Ghost Hunt and Tasogare Otome X Amnesia have a good mixture of romance and horror. They both have the "paranormal activity investigation" element where the truth to ghost stories and superstitions is constantly challenged only to be proven later on.

If you liked the serious approach to horror stories in one, you'll love the other!

bk202 bk202 says...

I love the intricacy of the ghost stories that appear in both. They have elements of comedy and romance (a little over done in Tasogare but that also acts as part of the plot so it isn't bothersome) Even with those elements they still are able to portray the severity and morbidity of the death of characters. Ghost hunt has a variety of stories while Tasogare only has one, and Ghost Hunt ghost keep their 'mystical existence' while in Tasogare the ghost is simply portrayed as not being able to be seen by humans, but hardly scary (but because of that, they can do some fun jokes).

hotspot hotspot says...

Both anime are about ghost stories, and have a group of characters learning about these stories, and trying to get to the bottom and solving of them. While Ghost Hunt has seperate stories, Amnesia, revolves around the same ghost story, and figuring out why the ghost character died in the first place.

I find, that they both have a similar feel to them.

Ryuuhei Ryuuhei says...

In both animes, there is a ghost of a dead girl who can be seen only by main hero and noone else. Even if these titles are different, because Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is slight horror, artistic and mystery while AnoHana is somehow slice-of-life and romance, they resemble each other in aspect of "dead girl wandering around as a ghost". If you're looking for something like that, you'll like each other!

Zumbody Zumbody says...

They both have normal, male main characters in love with a dead, female character that needs to do something in order to move on. And both dead, female main characters don't remember something important.

Larkawolfgirl Larkawolfgirl says...

Both series revolve around the male protagonist being able to see the female protagonist's ghost. Dusk Maiden has comedy, but both are dramas. The focus of each differ slightly, since Anohana is about dealing with someone's death, while Dusk Maiden is about accepting your own death.

Both anime revolve around guy being bothered by a shameless ghost girl who loves him. Neither is mind blowing, but if you liked one (especially because of the ghost girl x living boy aspect), than the other one should prove to be enjoyable as well.

Nicknames Nicknames says...

Both shows feature a high-schooler who is bothered by a busty and shameless ghost that likes to play pranks a bit too much.

The main difference between each show is its length. Kirara tries to cramp too much content in too little time while Dusk Maiden of Amnesia has enough runtime to develop the plot properly.

Anyway, if you liked one you'll like the other too.

ChalamiuS ChalamiuS says...

Both of these series feature a somewhat perverted female ghost that for one reason or another sticks around a young man. Kirara because she was going to be married to this man and somehow travelled back in time... and Yuuko in Tasogare simply because he can actually see her.

Both anime are about the members of a school club and their encounters with the supernatural and their personal growth through the support of eachother.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

So both of these anime involve a supernatural thing (yeah great description), well these anime are both around a group of teenagers who all belong to the same club and got caught up in supernatural occurances. Also some of the  characters are quite similar in personalities. The bonds between each character clearly grows as the series go on(in both) so in this way they are quite similar. So I think if you liked one you should check out the other.

This is definitely a gut-feel rec, but I think fans of Natsu no Arashi or TOxA would enjoy the other. They share a ghost-girl theme, are both a bit on the crazy/ecchi side, and past events are important for the plot.

AardvarkRex AardvarkRex says...

Both series revolve around (similar looking) ghost girls who died several decades ago and now "haunt" a cafe/school and get into a romantic relationship with a teenager. Both have comedic as well as dramatic moments in addition to similar presentation and aesthetics (same director). Natsu No Arashi also has a time travel subplot on top of it, whereas Dusk Maiden does not.

Gosick

In the early 20th century, Kazuya transfers to a prestigious academy as part of an exchange program between Japan and Saubure, a small European country. But while Kazuya would love to make friends and have a typical school life, the boy is shunned by his ghost story-loving peers who believe that he's a "Black Reaper" to be feared. Things change one day when Kazuya wanders to the top of the library and discovers a lush botanical garden, and a beautiful, small, blonde-haired girl named Victorique who rarely leaves the building and is fascinated by unsolved mysteries. Together, the two develop a budding friendship and take on many chilling and dangerous cases that even the famous local detective Grevil can't solve.

YuiYui YuiYui says...

Even though these two anime are set in a different timeline Tasogare Otome x Amnesia almost instantly reminded me of the mysteries featured in Gosick. It was like I was going through one of the cases again.  They both have romance between the most unlikely of pairings over the series and like I said they both have a very dark mystery feel to them (like the cases in Gosick). Based on this I could say that you should enjoy one if you have watched the other (But if you are reading this and you haven't watched either...watch them now ^_^)

PurplePeopleEater PurplePeopleEater says...

Gossick solves multiple mysteries while Tasogare really only looks at one mystery. However these mysteries involve life and death, and many are being solved after many years have passed since the incident. They both have a male lead who wants to help the female lead no matter what and ends up falling in love with the girl (only hinted is Gossick). Also both had an ending that tricked me.

Dusk Maiden is darker than Yamada-kun but both circle around a club which is interested in supernatural events at their school while also being at the center of most of those events. Each has some romance and comedy without being cheesy.

RogueLynx RogueLynx says...

both of these are hillarious, somewhat ecchi-heavy school life anime, featuring romance and some supernatural elements, that are about members of a club attempting to solve a mystery.
