These shows are both about the silly antics of bumbling, ineffectual, but cute, heroines.

Galaxy angel has more of an older school sci fi feel, while TOMH is more like a fantasy magical girl anime. But don’t let either of these shows fool you with their girly-ness, they’re all male oriented

Both of these shows share a lot of insane bat-shit antics that will leave you in stitches.  If you liked one you'll most certainly like the other. Another quick fact some Galaxy Angel va's are also in Milky Holmes.

Excel Saga

Excel Saga

F City, F Prefecture: the battleground where good and evil have finally chosen to decide once and for all who will rule the world…or at least that's the general idea! Neither side seems up for the task, as surviving the brutality of everyday life is enough of a chore. On the side of evil is the organization of Across, its only member the loudmouthed and abrasive Excel who struggles just to put food in her stomach; on the side of good, three disenfranchised, unemployed bachelors whose only pursuit in life is romance. Add in alien invasions, jungle warfare, and Mexican immigrant laborers to Japan, and this war doesn't seem likely to be ending soon!

Neither Excel Saga nor Tantei Opera Milky Holmes looks like it's going to have any adult themes in it- especially the latter, but both shows end up nudging the boundaries of what can be shown. Excel Saga sets up misleading situations, makes mature asides, and has some awkward sequences towards the end. Tantei Opera Milky Holmes has a frequently naked man with stiff nipples, ecstacy inducing attacks, and a blatant fanservice episode. If you want something that's almost ecchi, but not quite, try these on for size.

Kämpfer

Kämpfer

Having been chosen to become a Kampfer by the mysterious Moderators, Natsuru is now required to not only fight other Kampfers, but also to transform into a girl while doing so. Aided by a stuffed tiger, Natsuru must now battle it out with other boobalicious babes and continue to try to get close to Kaede – a task that will now be easier as she’s fallen for Natsuru’s female form! Can Natsuru keep his secret safe while maintaining his double life?

While Tantei Opera Milky Holmes looks adorable, don't let it fool you- it is just as focused on breasts, fanservice, and awkward situations as Kampfer is... just not as efficient about it. Both of these shows have plots about people with magical powers, but Tantei Opera Milky Holmes actually disguises itself as a childish show for a few episodes by focusing exclusively on its plot while Kampfer, which actually is ecchi, begins with fanservice early on. For TOMH fans who want something that looks better, Kampfer is a great choice, and for Kampfer fans who want another light and perverted show, TOMH is worth a look.

A group of detectives work together to solve crimes generally in hilarious ways. The teams generally make things worse for each other before making it better because of their quirkiness. Comedy is totally the main goal behind both series so if you are looking for something a little more series about solving mysteries either of these titles should be skipped. But if laughs are what you are after both are a great choice!

You might wonder why i have liked a serious detective series with a comedy series. Well, whilst milky holmes mainly uses their front as a detective more for comedy whilst Alice is the real deal i do believe the series have some small simularities which a certain audience might enjoy.

Milky holmes, though jokes left right and center still has it's moments, where as though again supernatural creates that detective feeling. The series still holds foundation (normally in the end) of a dectective series, so if you like detectives but fancy a laugh when watching, milky holmes might be your thing.

Memo-chou, though more serious and based on real mysteries which actually hold feeling to the real world we live in (oppisite to supernatural) still hasn't it's somewhat smaller moments of comedy,So if you feel like a little less laughs and a bit more serious you might like Memo-chou.

I seperated them due to their differences which though seem oppisite, in a sence do pull together.

The series are quite alike in following school kids and some mystery. Whilst in Nanana there is only one real detective (self proclaimed) present the series is developed around the ideal of lost and found (find) in which requires thought and all the skills a detective loves, aka logic, Milky holmes on the other hand is quite more laid back but similar style at tackling the mysteries.

Both series seem to use a side of comedy, Milky holmes is a little more forceful on this and takes comedy to a main genre but still keeping them alike.

I wont say they match perfectly but if you have some time and liked one, i think the other might have some appeal in it for you.

Both shows start out as a typically story of each genre (magical girl meets mystery - TOMH) (RPG Isekai - Konosuba) just to become over the top and surreal (Though the surrealism is more prominent in TOMH) comedies that parody said genres that don't take each other seriously while also having goofy yet cute and colorful characters.
