Tales of Eternia
Synopsis:
Reid, Farah, Meredy and Keel are on a quest to save the twin worlds of Celestia and Inferia from 'The Grand Fall' – a scenario in which both worlds would collide into each other. But when Reid is kidnapped by a bounty hunter called Marone, one thing leads to another and the four friends end up stranded on the tropical island of Belcarnu! And when Keel discovers some uncharted ruins on the island which seem to have been built by the Celestians, it becomes clear that there is more of a mystery to the island than meets the eye. Will the four be able to escape the island and prevent The Grand Fall?

Although the general story line is different, the general theme of a simple task turning into some horrible adventure is found in both. Worlds colliding, whether physical or metaphorical, can be found in them.
Star Ocean EX and Tales of Eternia are based on video games where the main characters take on many quests with the purpose of saving the world they live in. However while Star Ocean EX goes halfway through the game Tales of Eternia revolves around a side story of the game.

add recBoth shows are focused mainly on fighting. While the differences are many, they both give off the same feeling. The enemies in the two series are slightly irregular and seemingly supernatural.
