The year is After Colony 195, and mankind is in the midst of a seemingly endless ongoing war between the Space Colonies and the ones who created them: the people of Earth. To give the Colonies the advantage, five mobile suits called Gundams were created. Equipped with enhanced technology and extremely talented young pilots, these are the ultimate machines of war. While Relena Peacecraft pleads for peace, Heero Yui leads the Gundams into the battle with Earth to attain it. As their personalities and visions clash, their goal is the same: freedom for all and peace at last.
If you liked StarZinger then maybe you should like Gundam Wing. StarZinger is about 4 persons (handpicked buy coincidence)whom try to get along and fight together. the same is it about Gundam Wing the guys just meet in some strange way.
Fighting for love? Fighting for you princess? Isn't that what we all do? Just like Cogo, Haka and Darco is doing, thé guys in this series Gundam wing is too. But instead of ships they have robots. And they try to bring peace to the univers just like the crew on Queen Cosmos. If you want dramatic moments and alot of cyber fighting this is something for you. And of course Gundam Wing got a newer toutch to it since it's many years younger ;)
Cobra is a futuristic ladies' man with a gun for an arm and selective memories of his past. His inherited weapon, the Psychogun, is an unusual tool which responds to his very thoughts. Due to his strength and choice of weaponry, Cobra lives his life as a pirate whose main goal is to elude the nefarious bunch of evildoers known only as the Guild. Follow his space adventures as he lives on the run from both sides of the law!
This is another one in the row of old classic animes. To me these two series are really similar in style and content. Except that starzinger is abit more space focused. Just like Starzinger, Space Adventure Cobra got the blond long haired girls, the hero who is kinda stuborn but strong. I really recommend this one if you liked Cobra ^^
Once you have finished watching one of these shows you can start on the next. That is how close they are in ambiance and feel as well as animation.
Both anime can be described as Space operas and they have a strong focus on fun action-adventure with a hint of romance thrown in.
Mamoru is a seemingly normal 9-year-old boy in every respect: He goes to school with other kids his age, has two loving parents, and leads a peaceful life. But when the evil mechanoid alien Pasder awakens in his underground lair, things change for the worse. Sending his evil Zonderian servants to turn unsuspecting humans into giant robot monsters, mankind's salvation lies squarely on the shoulders of the Gutsy Geoid Guard defence agency. Together with the cyborg Guy and the mechanical lion Galeon, Mamoru finds himself as the key to ridding Tokyo of the alien menace!
Both these series make use of all the melodramatic, exagerrated clichés that you'd expect of the anime genre. Although StarZinger doesn't have the trademark gigantic robots, its over-the-top gadgets and weaponry are in the same vein as those of GaoGaiGar. With noble, self-sacrifing heroes and dastardly villians (which usually last one episode each) that seek only to destroy the universe, both these titles embody the old-fashioned sci-fi shows that we all loved when we were 8 year old.
Ever heard of a flying train? Tetsuro, living on a dismal earth, wants to ride it to Andromeda so he can get a mechanical body that will enable him to live forever. With the help of the mysterious woman, Maetel, Tetsuro braves many adventures on his way to Andromeda, heading towards a showdown with Count Mecha, an evil tyrant that brutally murdered his mother for sport. Will Tetsuro have the inner strength to face this monster on his own turf?
Aah, the nostalgia. I grew up on these two series. Both are basically stories that send our characters through the space into all sorts of weird events. Both series have somewhat similar feel. Though Starzinger has more action and fighting. If you enjoy old late '70s style of animation you should definietly check theses out. If you don't like old style animation you should still check out a few episodes of these awesome series. :P
A thousand years ago the evil Arago threatened to conquer all of humanity, but his plan fell short when a mystical holy warrior succeeded in sending him back to the Netherworld. In order to prevent the return of the evil lord the man separated Arago's indestructible armor and scattered the pieces. Now, centuries later, five young friends receive the magical samurai armor and become gifted with special weapons and abilities. The task of stopping Arago and his minions from once again unleashing chaos into the world rests in their hands. Will these young warriors be able to thwart his diabolical plan for revenge, or will they succumb to the evil desires brought out by the armor?
Both these series are typically shounen - action series aimed at young boys - with all the cool hero aspects you'd come to expect. You've got a group of heroes, each with his specific characteristics, armour, weapon and, of course, colour. The heroes of both series battle to save humanity from an evil threat that is poised to destroy all that we know and love, so if you're going for that classic 'Power Rangers' feel, both Ronin Warriors and StarZinger will satisfy you.
