Synopsis:
From Leiji Matsumoto, one of the classic Japanese sci-fi epics, telling the tales of the Space Battleship Yamato. After Earth is attacked and humanity left with only a year to live after being exposed to deadly radiation, the Yamato is sent on a desperate mission to retrieve technology to save them.

Arcadia Of My Youth is a film featuring one of Leiji Matsumoto's creations, Captain Harlock. In this movie, aliens of the Illumidus Empire conquer Earth and enslave humanity. Captain Harlock returns home in his battle cruiser, and confronts a populace that blames him and warriors like him for not being there to protect the planet..... and Harlock goes about trying to lead a resistance, and adopts the fighting strategy of ancient marauders. The movie draws many parallels with Japan during WWII.
