Like St. Luminous Mission High School, Spiral is another great mystery anime. It does have much better animation quality and an intriguing storyline. If you were a fan of Mission High, give Spiral a try!

The feeling I get from St. Luminous Mission High School and Kare Kano is quite similar for some reason. The atmosphere is also the same. Although Kare Kano is mostly just relationships, Luminous actually has a full plot.
This show is centered around Doujinshi (Fan Manga). Kazuki is a senior in high school, who doesn't really know what to do with his future. His friend Taishi drags him into the world of Doujinshi, where he tries to make and sell his Doujinshi to the masses and learn what it really means to be a real Doujinshi artist.
St. Luminous Mission High School and Comic Party aren't very similar, but they're unique in that there aren't many series like it out there. Comic Party isn't as involved however as Mission High. If you liked one of these series, give the other a try.
Ihrie and Fam are just two of the many explorers searching ruins for something called the 'ultimate power'. With the 'ultimate power' the owner has the ability to have any wish granted. Of course all the explorers have different motives for finding this relic, ranging from revenge on a curse-casting mentor, to saving a kingdom from utter destruction.
Trying to find the ultimate power and not actually knowing what it is until the last 10 minutes of the series in Ruin Explorers is very similar to how Luminous doesn't give away the mystery behind the disappearances. These are also quite comical which is always a plus.
