Ever since their first meeting at six years old, Hikari Hanazono has struggled to defeat her rival Kei Takashima at anything, whether it be athletics or academics. To date she has proven unsuccessful, resulting in Kei constantly referring to her as "second place." In reality, Kei has been in love with Hikari for quite some time, but Hikari remains completely oblivious to the fact. Now, as the top two students in a prestigious academy, the duo continues their long-running competition as part of the school's elite class of seven, the Special A. Will Hikari ever surpass Kei... or realize that he loves her?
Yukino had it all. Brilliant, athletic, popular and pretty, she was the perfect school girl with many friends and admirers. But then one fateful day she met her match: a handsome young man named Arima. Now, not only is he beating her at her own game, she's becoming more and more dismayed to learn that she's developing her first real feelings of romance. Can Yukino maintain her model student appearance, or will love ruin all her plans?
Another anime series where two top students constantly bicker and compete to be the best. It's also similar in the way that they're surrounded by a group of friends who are quirky and fun, mostly to offset the tension between the two main characters.
Both have girls trying to cope with their inferiority complex, which the boys in the animes make more profound by teasing them. And both are love stories
if you liked special a you will definitly like kare kano as they are both simular stories of the 2 top students and the girl wanting to be first in the school. But off course romance comes into it as the guy likes the girl and eventually the girl finds out she also likes the guy, but you cant forget the comedy that comes along with this fantastic drama :)
Two students at the top of their class compete with other and are oblivious to each other's feelings for each other. Special A has more comedy to it while kare Kano is much more dramatic but each is a school comedy
Sawako Kuronuma is just like any other high school girl who wants to make friends and be useful. The only problem is she bears a worrying resemblance to Sadako from 'The Ring!' Because of her reputation, people are not only terrified of her, but small dogs even bark in fear at her presence; in fact, the only person in school who will talk to her is the lively class hottie, Kazehaya. As the pair spends more time together, Kazehaya slowly begins to bring Sawako out of her shell and soon their feelings for each other develop further. Though with her crippling insecurities, lack of social skills, and a series of cruel rumors and misunderstandings, it seems that Sawako's dream of a normal life won’t be quite so easy to obtain.
I'm surprised that no one has made this recommendation yet. The similarities of the romantic stance of both lead characters in each anime are startlingly similar. What saves each show is the personalities of the characters.
Kimi ni Todoke really has more touching and sweet moments than Special A. I also found myself relating to the characters in KnT more than SA, for obvious reasons if you watch both shows. That isn't a blemish on SA, though. The writers really kept the show engaging for all 24 episodes. This was something that other similarly long series, such as Lovely Complex, failed to do. They accomplished this by actually providing interesting stories for the supporting cast. Kudos to them for doing so, it was a smart move.
KnT is one of those shows that really pulls you into the story. When you anticipate the ending credits in a show with dread because you know it's going to be a whole week before you can be brought into their world again, you realize that you have stumbled onto something special. There is obvious love and care that goes into this anime, and Production IG shows it.
If you enjoy romantic comedies, interesting characters, and the discovery of love in unexpected people, you'll thoroughly enjoy both of these excellent animes.
The characters are so similar in Special A and Kimi ni Todoke. The romance feeling concerning the main characters in each series builds and builds until the very end of the series and keeps people waiting in anticipation until the end.
Both animes have romance in and heart beating moments. The main character isn't as lively as the one in special A tho but give it a chance, kimi ni todoke is wayyy better and for those who dont like the perverted type e.g. flashing and only like the normal sweet funny romance then watch kimi ni todoke <3 :D YOUR'LL LOVE IT! i give you my world :)!!!
Girls can be so clueless sometimes... this anime is so sweet. I don't know how else to describe it. Unlike the competitive nature in special A this is a sweet romance that begins just as hopelessly onesided as far as the boy thinks. Just watch it. I'm SURE you'll love it
Fumizuki Academy is divided into classes ranked based purely on ability; Class A has laptops, reclining seats and ultimate comfort whereas Class F has to settle for a rundown classroom with rotten cushions and rickety coffee tables. Akihisa Yoshii has recently taken the placement exam and finds himself relegated to the lowly Class F along with many of his friends, and they’re far from impressed with their draughty facilities. Luckily, not all is lost as at Fumizuki, classes can declare war on each other to swap rooms by fighting with summoned characters whose strength is based on the users' test scores. As they dream of escaping their decrepit circumstances, the ‘idiotic’ students of Class F will try whatever they can to reach the dizzy heights of Class A’s luxury, even if it means taking on the entire school in an all-out summoning war!
both animes are very similas cause is a great combination of romance and comedy. The big difference maybe is that baka to test is more ecchie.
There are several couples, wich means more than one story. Also bothhave a high school setting and challenge each other in an academic way.
both animes are competitions to be the smart ones in the school. Both schools are based on a Caste system via grades.
There is friendly competition in both animes In special A being between two people and in Baka between classes.
Comedy is there and they are addicting
Both of these great anime share a lot in common. Though the protagonist in Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is male and that of Special A is female, they are both extremely thick headed when it comes to love. Special A has much more romantic development compared to Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. Whilst both series have lots of comedy Special A is more serious than Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu. They are both great animes and if you like one, it is most likely you will like the other. Unless you happen to be allergic to love :)
Rino is an orphan whose only memento of her mother is a taking puppet named Puuchan. After a generous donation from a mysterious benefactor, Rino finds herself enrolled in the prestigious all-girls high school known as Miyagami; and thus her adventure begins! With Rino’s naïve nature and Puuchan’s sadistic streak, the duo quickly takes the school by storm. From the ranks of the seemingly all-powerful Best Student Council, Rino and Puuchan change the lives of everyone they meet, like it or not!
okay well i mean there both pretty much on a counsil. and it takes place in a nice private school were things can get competitive. These are both entertaining and fun shows that will make you laugh.
both anime had an hiper/active main character also they have the same idea of this club/group of students that is better and has more power than the faculty it self... both are great anime that would defenitely make you laugh!
Special A and Best Student Council have the same type of energetic main character that makes everyone else around her feel good about themselves. The council these elite type of students belong to seem to have the most power and authority in the school.
they are similar in a lot of ways, including the characters, art and plot development as well as the quality of shoujo.
Special A and tonari no kaibutsu-kun are similar to each other. they both have a school life. The girl is trying to beat the boy in grades. Both have some hidden laughter in it.
I agree the girl near the middle in tonari no kaibutsu - kun is trying to beat the boy because he is actually really smart and this is the first time she has been beaten in this particular subject.
