Twenty year-old Mikiko Oguro (known as Kuromi to her co-workers) has just entered the dream job of a lifetime -- animation! However, upon her arrival to the famed Studio Petit, Kuromi is in for a surprise: her predecessor just quit, leaving her with the project, and the seemingly unattainable deadline! Now, with only a week left until the key animation is due, Kuromi must wrangle up the group of slackers who must finish Time's Journey 2 before it's too late!

Animation Runner Kuromi and Sorcerer Hunters OVA have similar humor. If you liked the sometimes random and hyper pranks in one, I think you'd like the other.

Golden Boy

Golden Boy

Having recently dropped out of law school, where he had finished the graduation requirements but didn't actually graduate, Kintaro Oe is on a new self-driven quest for knowledge. His adventures will lead him to a variety of workplaces including a computer firm, noodle shop, and even an animation studio, where his seemingly perverse attitude always tends to get him into trouble with the opposite sex. The moral of the story? Study! Study! Study!

With their randomness and ecchi, Sorcerer Hunters OVA and Golden Boy seem to match well enough to recommend for each other. The Sorcerer Hunters OVA is a bit more hyper, but shouldn't be too far out of the reach of Golden Boy.

Iketeru Futari

Iketeru Futari
  • TV (16 eps x 5 min)
  • 1999

Meet Saji Keisuke, a hormone-heavy teen who's fallen hopelessly in love with Koizumi, a supposed man hater who refuses to give him the time of day. All he wants is to get laid, but all Koizumi wants is to get as far from him as possible! With plenty of love for Koizumi (in his pants?!) and plenty of distractions to keep at bay (such as big breasted Yuki), can our hero manage to get past second base with the girl of his dreams, or is she destined to stay just in his dreams forever?

I. Futari has about the same type of ecchiness of the Bakuretsu OVA. It may cater to your ecchi whims.

From start to finish Slayers and Sorcerer Hunters OVA are lacking a plot, but in return you'll find hyper, random comedy and ecchiness. Both are on the short side which is only a plus, as you can get through them more quickly. Not a single second is wasted!

Rune Soldier

Rune Soldier

Louie is a student at a mage’s school, but secretly yearns for adventure. One night he meets a group of treasure hunters: Melissa, a Mylee priestess; Genie, a warrior; and Merill, a thief. They are in need of a mage so Louie volunteers to join them, but they decline his offer when they witness his poor mage skills. The next day, Melissa prays to her god to guide her to the hero she should serve. Her god replies that the next man she sees will be her hero, after which Louie literally falls down from the sky! Against her will, Louie is the hero she should honor and thus, Louie is accepted into their group. He is now a treasure hunter, mage, warrior, and hero?! With little expertise in anything, he can't possibly be of much use!

Both series are good classic high fantasy stories with a strong humor element. If you like your fantasy with mindless humor and main characters of questionable intelligence, this is for you.
