King of Bandit Jing

King of Bandit Jing main image

Join the king of thieves Jing and his plumed partner Kir as they seek out the greatest treasures in the world - and steal them. From desert bandit fortresses to the innermost sanctums of kings and queens, if there's a magnificent treasure to be had, you can be sure Jing has his eyes (and later his hands) on it.

Both involve fairly episodic (Jing being 100%, SB being pretty much episodic for each pair of episodes) plots, with wonderful (but different than each other) animation style. Both contain a person or persons who are pirates/thieves, who want to find treasure. Jing takes place on a magical continent, while SB takes place in space. Both are definitely worth your time.

Both are episodic shows about bandits running around trying to get lots of treasure. Sol Bianca is way more serious than King of Bandit Jing but both have intersting characters that are always looking for the next big challenge. If you liked one check out the other.

A special forces squad made up of odd females called Melty Lancers, who must protect the the planet from an unknown organization... sounds a lot like the group of female space pirates saving the earth from an evil syndicate in Sol Bianca. If you liked one of these shows, give the other a try.

The feel of these two series is very, very similar. Both are 6 episodes, even. ML and SB both contain absolutely BEAUTIFUL animation. The plot might suffer slightly, but is still entertaining. Sol Bianca, I'd say, becomes darker in the last few episodes, and has a lot more emotional aspects to it. In general, though, the environments, characters, and animation are extremely similar to both series.

Vandread will remind you of SB's space/mecha parts. Vandread is a space epic, while Sol Bianca is fairly episodic. Both are fantastic, with plots, at various points, that suck you in and make you feel what the characters are feeling.

The action and adventure of Blue Sub is much the same as that of Sol Bianca. It also has strange creatures and a very interesting story. If you enjoyed one of these anime, definitely check out the other!

The group of female vigilantes in power suits in Bubblegum Crisis is a lot like the group of female space pirates aboard a unique ship in Sol Bianca. One is in space, the other on earth, but if you liked Sol Bianca you'll like any of the BBG series, not just 2040.
