Skull Man and Boogiepop Phantom are about mysterious events occurring throughout a city. There are a wide variety of characters, with many of them having extraordinary talents. Both series have the same tone and can be very confusing at times, more so in Boogiepop.

TotallyLovable

There is a mysterious wanted man who plays the part of a avenger. There is this feeling of insecurity and need to know more and more. The setting is in the past. Both Niiju-Mensou no Musume and Skull man leave this kind of impression. Althought the main characters strife to know more about this misterious man, they differ from each other not only because of their age, but also their kind of thinking. While Chiko wants to get close to 20 Faces, Hayato is kinda scared of and mad at Skull Man; but there is no doubt that the two anime have much more in common than it seems.

Verdeloth26

There is sort of a mysterious element to Skull Man that is also readily available in Death Note, only in Death Note, the mystery is solved much sooner for the viewer. The knowledge given to the viewer, however, makes Light solving the mystery of L all the more exciting in the long run.
