A devastating earthquake strikes Tokyo, leaving the city in ruins. Man's only hope is to use boomers, an artificial humanoid form. Everything seems perfect until some of the boomers go crazy and start killing people. The only hope of stopping them is the Knight Sabers, a group of 4 female heroes in form-fitting power suits, with which they can perform amazing feats of strength and agility.
Both anime is set in the not so distant future in a technologically advanced city which having recovered from a post-apocalyptic event are under constant attack from invaders as in Silent Mobius and androids in Bubblegum Crisis. Both feature an all female combat/police team trying to protect this city from that threat and effect it has on them and the onces they care about. Theres also similarities such as in some of the characters, sound/music, retro animation style and more. If you like one I'm pretty sure you will like the other.
Gawl, Koji and Ryo may seem like ordinary exchange students, but in reality they're anything but normal. The trio has travelled into the past to stop dangerous genetic research from being completed – research that has terrible consequences in the future – and Gawl, a boy with the ability to morph into a powerful creature, may be their best hope in succeeding. Now, between trying to hide their secret from the nosy daughter of their landlord and attending classes at Oju Academy, the boys must race against the clock to complete their mission at any cost.
It's been awhile since I've seen Silent Mobius, and it's true that Generator Gawl starts out more as a school life series, but both of these, imo, would be appreciated by the same audience. Each involves one or more folks who must battle crazy monsters, and just have a similar feel. It may be a gut feeling, but try out one if you liked the other - just bear in mind Silent Mobius is way better.
Japan's hottest service is Nicaea, a website that sends your friends a picture of your death before it happens. Daichi and Hibiki are two teens who didn't expect Nicaea to actually be real – that is, until the boys receive an email about their demise, and die shortly after. On the brink of going to the beyond they're given a choice: expire, or have a second chance at life. And so the two awaken to discover the city's been destroyed and they now have the ability to summon demons – an ability that a secretive branch of the government insists they use to help combat an imminent threat. For unless summoners like the teens put a stop to otherworldly invaders destroying the planet, the world will soon disappear...
Mobius and Devil Survivor definitely have a similar feel and (to some extent) plot. Both take place in a dark environment where people are having to fight mysterious monster/demon invaders. It's hard to explain why I think these two are such good recommendations for each other, they just are. If you can deal with the animation quality difference given their ages, try it on for size.
