Being the insignificant heir to a talented family is rough, especially for someone who has little of his own talents and honestly desires to live up to the family name. Masahiro is the young grandson of the famed Abe no Seime. Although most consider him to be little in the face of his older male relatives, Masahiro is certain he can not only continue the family legacy but that he can stand in his own right as an Onmyouji. With the assistance of his friend Mokkun, he works to increase his skills and abilities as a spiritual protector and guide. With a great deal of will and the quiet assistance of his insightful grandfather, he will become a force of good in the battle against encroaching evil.
Since he was a child, Kantaro Ichinomiya has had the ability to see demons; but one day, the young Kantaro was told of a goblin so powerful that it could vanquish any foe with ease. Intrigued, his search began. Now, in the present, Kantaro works as an exorcist, banishing demons who have possessed human bodies; yet still he searches – that is, until one day, he touches a mysterious seal and releases the legend itself! His name is Haruka, he's good with the ladies, and he can kick demon butt like no other; but can he help Kantaro raise enough money for his rent?
Both Shounen Onmyouji and Tactics are action-packed and are filled with chanting, demon (youkai) exorciscms, and magic. They are set in ancient Japan. Both main characters are trying to improve their skills, and are accompanied by spirits and friendly youkai who help them along the way.
Both of theses series are about Japanese spiritualists. The main characters in both go around their towns exorcising demons. They both have a second sight, which allows them to see what others cannot. If you like series about onmyoujis, priests or spiritualists and having your home flooded with unwanted mononoke, then these are the series to watch.

While the settings for these two anime are very different, they are very similar in other ways. Both feature a rediculously sappy romance (I say that fondly) and likeable protagonists. Both of them feature plenty of action and adventure and the tone for both is also very similar. I would recommend both of these series for anyone looking for some good old action/romance.
Once upon a time, two brothers passed the happy days of their childhood by studying alchemy, which is governed by the equal transfer principle: an eye for an eye -- you can't get more than you give. But these brothers tried to defy that law, and a horrific accident resulted. Now, the older brother, Edward, is called the Full Metal Alchemist because of his metal limbs, and the younger, Alphonse, is a soul without a body, trapped within the confines of an automaton. Together they search for the power to restore themselves, to find the lives they lost so long ago...
Both series are about a young boy who has magical powers, and is much more skillful and powerful than most. They both have a sort of complex that they get teased for a lot, but in the end, they are unwilling to give up the beliefs and people that are most precious to them.

After their protector gods are stolen, a high school girl named Akane descends from the skies to the people of Kyou. She has within her the power of the Dragon God and is welcomed as a savior; but has she come to save Kyou, or destroy it? While she struggles to control her power, her demon summoner works behind the scenes to use her as a tool of vengeance. To make matters worse, the 8 Hachiyou who would defend her have not yet been fully gathered. Both series take place in medieval times. They are based on legendary fights of priestesses and monks (miko and onmyouji) against evil creatures and vengeful ghosts. Masahiro and Yasuaki are both disciples of famous historical onmyouji Abe no Seimei. If you are interested in this traditional japanese esoteric science, you can observe their methods in very popular and enjoyable way.
