Shisha no Sho

Synopsis:

Lady Iratsume is a famed beauty in the capital city of Nara. Yet while men garner for her affections, the noblewoman chooses to stay in her room and copy the latest scriptures. One day, after completing her one thousandth copy of the Amida Sutra, Iratsume sneaks out of the house, travelling to the west in search of Buddha. She soon finds herself at a temple, where an elderly storyteller regales her of the tragic tale of Prince Otsu and how her fate is linked to him. As the spitting image of her ancestor Mimimo no Toji, Iratsume has now become the object of the deceased prince’s obsession, while she too finds herself entranced by him...
