But when a strange earthquake somehow transports them and their friends to a fantasy land filled with strange creatures and evil spirits, the two friends find themselves separated in a world on the brink of war. While Takeru decides to find his lost companions and fight to save the world, Takeshi sets off on a path to find a new purpose and gain recognition...even if that path that leads him away from his friends. The battle for the fate of the world approaches; will the friends ever be reunited?
If you liked Shining Tears, you'd also like Izumo because it is also about high school students being transported to a new world, friends battling friends and the act of having to choose one's loyalties.
if you like Izumo you must watch Shining Tears X Wind too. Top story is similar group of students send to another world to save it..good friends fighting each other for their belifes...some romance scense are included too ;)
Both of these anime feature high-school students beings transported to another world.
Good friends are seperated and pitted against one another in opposing sides of a war, each fighting for what they believe in.
Shining Tears X Wind is slightly darker, however, along with slight ecchi.
In these, a group of friends wind up in a fantasy world in the middle of a war. Unfortunately, some of the friends find themselves on opposing sides, and are forced to fight with one another. They either fight to live day by day in this dangerous world, for their own ideals/desires, or for the protection of others (such as new and old friends/love interests they acquire in this other world), but how the stories go about it are identical. I REALLY suggest watching the other if you liked one of the two.
Have you ever been sick and tired of the world we live in? So much, that you've tried any means possible to escape it? Zed shares the same feelings as we all do. In the smog ridden, and sunless world of Calm, people manage to scrape by on the bare minimum. Fed up with living in this hellhole, Zed looks for an outlet to another world. Beating down and smashing every door in his sight, he hopes that if he believes strong enough, his gateway will open -- open to a place beyond his imagination, and where his life will have meaning. After finally being transported to another world full of nature and endless battles, Zed soon comes to realize that his life of purpose has just begun.
the setup is pretty much identical in both of these series. so if you want to watch it to see the story unfold with the same ingredients, you'll definitely like both of these series.
Both animes are similar the only difference is that in shining tears x wind characters call upon soul blades to fight where as in kiba characters call upon spirits
Both anime have persons dragged into another fantasy world. Both anime have plenty of battles throughout the story. If you liked one, you should check out the other

The two anime use girls as weapons and fantasy elements. Although the fighting is plentiful, the protagonists have next to no experience in battle but gradually learn while becoming closer to the main female(s).
In the near future, the outbreak of a terrible disease called the Apocolypse Virus places Japan under the military rule of a global organization called the GHQ - a group tasked with checking the spread of the virus and administering vaccinations. Apathetic high school student Shuu Ouma lives in Tokyo, spending his days editing videos and trying to be left alone. But things change when he meets the beautiful pop idol, Inori, who is on the run from GHQ soldiers. While trying to save her from her captors, he acquires a mysterious power called the Void Gene that allows him to pull items or weapons from anyone under the age of seventeen. Now, Shuu must decide whether to join the efforts of the well-funded radical terrorist group "Funeral Parlor" and fight against the GHQ, or shrug off his newfound power and resume his normal life - assuming that either the GHQ or Funeral Parlor's charismatic leader, Gai, will let him.
Enjoy how a protagonist - who is suddenly and directly thrown into the midst of a warring environment - pulls out different weapons from people and uses them for battle? See it happen again!
Both anime have main character thrown into battle and pull out peoples souls in the form of a weapon to fight.
Takumi is a reclusive otaku who wants nothing more than to be left alone to play online games and watch anime. He only attends the minimum necessary to pass his classes, and rarely leaves his cramped room except to purchase the newest figurines. One evening, while Takumi is chatting online with his friend "Grim," a stranger called "Shogun" joins the channel and, after "Grim" leaves, posts a series of disturbing photographs depicting a man impaled to a wall with metal stakes. The following day, Takumi is horrified when he wanders into an alley and once again sees Shogun’s images – but this time, the gruesome scene is reality. From then on, Takumi sees the world through a new set of eyes; imaginary delusions meld with reality, and he isn't sure who he can trust. With suspicions and confusion at every turn, Takumi must struggle to determine what's going on - but most importantly, whose eyes are those eyes?
