Drawn to the mystique of the unknown, Hunters travel the world in search of terrifying creatures, incredible riches, and unexplored lands. Gon Freecss is a naive-yet-determined young boy who aspires to join the ranks of these individuals, in order to find his missing father Ging - a master of the profession himself. To reach his goal, he partakes in the formidable Hunter Exam, a series of tests that push the participants to their physical and mental limits, with a Hunter License as the prize. During the exam Gon befriends vengeful Kurapika, doctor-to-be Leorio, and skilled assassin Killua, who have entered for their own reasons. But with the sinister Hisoka standing in their way, will Gon and his friends be able to succeed in obtaining their reward, or even escaping with their lives?
If you REALLY liked the fun-loving atmosphere of either of these series, you will really enjoy the other. While Hunter X Hunter focuses on self-improvement and focusing energy for fighting, Shaman King focuses on the spirits, but both series have an array of awesome characters that you will SURELY love.
In Shaman King and Hunter X Hunter the atmosphere is about the same. The main characters are quite similar in looks as well as in temperament. So if you are like me and just love that feel good feeling, HXH is most definitely for you.
The main characters in HxH and Shaman King have the same morals, and the two anime have a somewhat familiar atmosphere. If you liked one, I'm sure you'll like this shounen title as well.
Fifty years ago, the Demon Stone and RAVE (two powerful artifacts) are broken and scattered throughout the world. The story follows the journey of Haru Glory; during his travels he meets many new friends and allies, and also enemies known as the Daemon Card. He will have to use the powers given to him by RAVE to defeat the Daemon Card and find the other pieces of RAVE.
Groove Adventure Rave and Shaman King both center around characters with powers peculiar to themselves. While the underlying basis for the powers in each of the shows is entirely unique, both shows seem to share the same spirit. Yoh and Haru are entirely different characters, but both provide moments of intense laughter as well as moments of complete sincerity. Both characters attempt to keep living a light-hearted lifestyle while taking upon intense responsibilities only they can face. The trials in both shows are entirely serious while the friendships made along the way in the two are hillariously entertaining. The balance between good humor, intense action, and intriguing plotline is mirrored between the shows. That's definitely a good thing.
Rave and Shaman King are both lighthearted series. With a laid back atmosphere, some fun fights and eventually a decent story, I'd say these anime have quite a few things in common.
If you like the idea about people fighting with magical swords then theses are for you. Both have great action fights and good plots to follow.
“Vash, the Stampede” - worth 60 billion dollars to the one who can turn him in. Bounty hunters everywhere are on the lookout for this legendary gunman, not to mention insurance agents Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who are tasked with preventing any potential damage that this Vash can cause. But with 60 billion on his head, Vash is not an easy man to find.
People will probably think I'm crazy for comparing the 2 but alot of it reminded me of each other. First both anime start highly humerous and then get serious. 2nd The whole evil brother thing. 3rd Hao's Comrades very like the Group the helped knives. interesting, comedic, and full of action both of them.
Athough Trigun isn't a fighting series, there is something distictly similar about the 2 main characters in Shaman King and Trigun. They both seem to be really laid back and silly, even LAZY at times, but then when it comes down to the wire, they always pull off some crazy move to save the day! Shaman King is a bit more of an adventure though, and definately aimed at kids.
Beneath Tokyo lies a city whose inhabitants have inherited a natural ability to control the elements. After a civil uprising, two girls surface from the sub-terra in a bid to escape from this secret world. Together, Chelsea and Ruri stumble upon Asagi Rumina, a man who becomes determined to protect them from those who would pursue the maiden of life. After a close encounter with death, Rumina learns that he must develop a skill of his own to keep his newfound friends safe, especially as it seems to be his responsibility to stop the impending doom rising to take over the planet’s surface. Will his power of wind be enough to take on The Company, or will he be forced to kneel before those brandishing electricity, ice and shadow?
The feeling you get from Tokyo Underground and Shaman King is quite a bit the same. You have a main character in each, trying to improve himself to accomplish a goal, whether it is saving the girl, or just to have a nice lazy life, either way, the way the story unfolds is quite the same.
both animes inlvolve superpowers, even though shaman king is more in the spiritutal powers but both have nice plots with many fights involved
Kagome is a normal high school girl who falls into a well, transporting her back in time to the feudal era. Upon her arrival to this world, she mercifully unleashes Inuyasha, a half demon. As if this isn't enough, she also discovers that she is the bearer of the Shikon no Tama, a jewel of great spiritual power, a jewel which has just shattered into a million shards. Now, along with Miroku the priest, Sango the demon hunter, and Shippou the mischievious fox-demon, they must set out to find the Shikon shards and defeat the evils of the demon Naraku.
Both InuYasha and Shaman King can be considered shounen anime as they super powered fights. Yet both have something extra as well: a lighthearted aspect that shies clear of being a full-blooded comedy, and a laidback flow that helps interrupt the fights.
Shaman King and InuYasha are both about fighting. Although Shaman King ended with a cliff-hanger ending, it's still nice. If you liked one, you're sure to like the other. Because both have characters that fight super cool!! XD
