Like shaman king, it is a light hearted fighting anim.

FINSahaqiel FINSahaqiel says...

Both have a lot of fighting and supernatural powers.

TheBurningCrow TheBurningCrow says...

All I can say is if you like Shaman King but wanted a bit more action and excitement, Flame of Recca is definately for you! Also the other way around, if Recca was too intense at times, Shaman King gives you a different feel on fighting, using spirits instead of elemental weapons. The main character in each series are a lot alike, VERY devoted.

jastheace jastheace says...

Although some would not pair this series with Flame of Recca I believe it is a good match. The ability to "Oversoul" is similar to using elements in Flame of Recca. It allows the user to tap a resource beyond their own power and fight at a new level. Definately a must-see.

freakzilla freakzilla says...

Shaman King is a bit more laid back while Flame of Recca doesn't waste any time and gets straight to the serious fighting. Yet the fighting style is very similar, so you should like this one as well.

Vilho Vilho says...

The common element whit Flame of Racca and Shaman King is hard to explain.

Sirits of Shaman king can be sayd to be similar to the spirits of flames in Recca.

astraea astraea says...

The theme of both anime revolves around tournaments and fighting. The other uses spirits, the other uses secret ninja weapons. I think you'll love them both.

Bleach

Bleach

However, when Ichigo and his family find themselves under attack by a huge beast, Ichigo discovers that there’s more to the supernatural world than the everyday specter. Vengeful spirits known as Hollows roam the world in search of devouring souls, and Shinigami – soul reapers – work tirelessly to defeat them and guide normal ghosts into a place called Soul Society. Ichigo valiantly fights the Hollow that threatens his sisters, but on the verge of defeat a Shinigami named Rukia gives him her powers, turning him into a Shinigami himself. Both of the series are about spiritual power and spirits/ghosts. They both have a theme of saving those who are normal, unlike themselves. Battles are present in both.

saiyamar saiyamar says...

These anime are undeniably similar. Although Shaman King is more lighthearted than Bleach as a whole they are both packed full of spirits/ghosts, comedy and action/fighting. There is also the usual issues of romance thrown in but they are both rather small references and are not all that focused upon. (This goes for Bleaach more than Shaman King which has a bit more).

Anyway, if you liked one then you will almost certainly like the other.

Davozz Davozz says...

Shaman King and Bleach are both Epic tales of a young man discovering his inherent strength.

Further, the trust in friends, component is present, ie: Both Ichigo and Yoh have to rely on their friends and companions in their adventures.

The overall feel of the two series are quite similar and I believe they are worth a try for most people.

KiraRin KiraRin says...

Kick-ass spirit fighting is central to both Bleach and Shaman King, and will appeal to the same shounen fan. With plenty of character development, insane enemies and unlimited power-up moves, both shows are the perfect recommendations for each other.

Bodekai Bodekai says...

Both Very fantasy like. You should definitely watch both if You have not already. The characters are cool and they have motivation to train and fight.

misthero misthero says...

If you like cool and grand weapon transformation(s) and attacks that'd make you stand up on your seat while watching, then Shaman King and Bleach offer that, minus the lots of chitchat. Both anime titles will take you a trip to how Spiritual Battles are done.

The tournament to become God or the tournament to become Shaman King? Competitors gather around Ueki and Yoh because they like their personality and convictions and together they go to the trounament to defeat people who want to use the prize for evil. These two anime have very similar structures and main characters so if you enjoyed one you should enjoy the other.

Kodras Kodras says...

Although I've not finished watching Shaman King myself (yet) it's already displayed a strong tournament theme similar to that of Ueki. Both contain fights which are organised by a higher power, and both main characters have opponents they either look forward to fighting, or don't really want to fight. If you like anime where the action is a bit more structured, these two are for you.

chimera chimera says...

Both series have a similar structured plot line and even the main characters are similar with laid back attitudes. They both participate in a tournament to win an awesome prize and they make many friends as well enemys as they try to reach their goal.

Kari5 Kari5 says...

Both these shows take place during a large tournament, to become God or the Shaman King. There are a few main characters, with new friends and enemies appear every few episodes. There's plenty of life lessons including friendship and trust. The characters are similar in the way that some are just wacky looking so you remember them.

Deer50 Deer50 says...

They both compete in a tournament to become "king." Powers are lent by spirits/candidates. They both have a "fight for your friends" motto.Characters have different abilities. Both have a villian with a bad past bent on destroying the world. One prankster/jokester character joins the main group.

Shaman King and Naruto are very similar. Both start out as a a light hearted comedy with a little fighting, but later turn into a serious fighting anime.

Both Naruto and Shaman King start out slow and have a familiar scent, but later on the stories become heavier and you are drawn into them.

crimsoneyes crimsoneyes says...

Both characters have a goal and they will do anything to achieve it. Yoh and Naruto have this passion to protect their friends, which leads them to tapping into a strong power they both have inside.

DarkScribe DarkScribe says...

Both anime are focused around a teenage boy who despite being faced with important and often dangerous tasks in pursuit of their goals, maintain a relaxed, easy-going attitude.

Both series look strongly at not only the strengths and weaknesses of the main character but also that of the group of companions they keep and their bonds with them.

Both are lighthearted enough to watch when you dont want to watch something intense, but can both provide intensity and edge-of-your-seat situations.

KiraRin KiraRin says...

Two very typical shounen shows, neither of which were very appealing to myself, will definitely be loved by younger action fans. Simple jokes, impossibly crazy characters and a journey of self discovery see the main protagonists fight their way to the top. If you enjoy the battles and friendships in one show, you're bound to love the other.

They both have a lot of fighting and some serious humour. Also sort of similar characters and plot.

TheBurningCrow TheBurningCrow says...

what can I say? It's as though Shaman King and Kenshin were one in the same. Both of these series have a very similar feeling, although Kenshin is a bit more "realistic" as far as plot and fighting goes. But the characters all seem a lot alike, even their humor and characteristics.

saiyamar saiyamar says...

I don't really know why but i think that these two anime feel the same to some degree. It might be the comedy and style of the anime all together that makes it feel like that but it doesn't really matter.

I think that you ought to give this anime a go if you enjoyed the other one as it is probably goin to be the same for you too and you'll enjoy it.
