both Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka and Seitokai no Ichizon have many things in common, both are settled in a school life aspect, both feature a similar animation style (pointing especialy at character designs) and the same genre aspects both of them concentrating on comedy (better developed in Seitokai no Ichizon). If you like one of them then be sure to check the other one as well.
Both anime develop in the school and they have a similar character design. If you like commedy and harem anime you must watch them

Each of these series are comedic with a love story going on slightly in the background. Both of these series make constant reference to other anime and otaku culture for a hilarious result.
I thought of this anime when I was watching this series because they both make references to other animes.
Life is simply not worth living for down and out school teacher Itoshiki Nozomu. He has no hope of progress, no prospect of promotion, no chance at happiness… he is in despair! Even his name spells 'zetsubou' – 'despair', when compressed. But when the time comes to end it all, Itoshiki's attempted suicide on the first day of the new school year is foiled by relentlessly positive Fuura Kafuka. This saves Itoshiki long enough to meet his new class, and the quirky range of students under his care. Will Itoshiki Nozomu depress his students with his anguish? Or will Fuura show Zetsubou-sensei the joys of life and hope?
Even though the plot are as different as night and day, (wait, wheres the plot?) nevermind. You'll like one if you like the other, both of them are parody animes, in Sayounara Zetsubo Sensei the parodys are harder to notice as they are not as obivious as in Seitokai no Ichizon. Both also seem to have a faniscation with Death Note. Though not exactly similiar give one a shot if you like the other.
Both anime features a lot of parodies about another anime and videogames (though SZS parody more stuff than that and sometimes it's jokes are hard to get) so, if you like one you'd like the other one.
When Natsuki Andou jokingly said the only school club she’d join is the "Going Home Club", she had no idea it was actually real! Having now accidentally become a member, the girl soon discovers that the Going Home Club is anything but typical: they pass the time having as much fun as possible outside of the classroom, whether it’s feeding pigeons, going to a crepe stand, or even using martial arts moves to open bottles! Alongside fellow students Karin, Sakura, Claire and Botan, Natsuki will learn just how fun a school club can be.
I'm not even all the way done with the first episode of Chronicles of the Going Home Club and I thought to myself, this is so much like Seitokai no Ichizon I have to go place a recommendation for it! Both anime seem to be just about randomness and the crazy thoughts of the characters in the clubs. They are both character driven plots to the max and from what I've already seen, I think Going Home Club will have just as many funny references to things as Seitokai.
CotGHC is an all girls version of Seitokai no Ichizon, and uses its own material most of the time for the jokes.
Seitokai no Ichizon uses references and has a Male Protaganist which is what seperates these two apart.
Both are Slice of Life Comedies that focus on the club room surroundings, with SnI having a bit more of a romantic Harem approach
She’s smart, talented, and the newest teacher at Momotsuki Academy; but she’s also… 11 years old?! Named Becky Miyamoto, this pint-sized MIT prodigy wants nothing more than to be a respectable educator, but all her students do is treat her like an adorable child! With space aliens, a class full of stereotypes (and one girl who is normal!), and a quick temper standing in her way, Becky will try her best to shape the eager young minds of tomorrow before she hits puberty!
Jokefest anime in a school setting, that's what both Seitokai no Ichizon and Pani Poni Dash! are. Both combine countless parody jokes with a cast of cheeky personalities, and are mostly silly. If you enjoyed the nonsensical parody / comedy in one of these shows, make sure to check out the other!
