Once a popular all girls' school, Ousai Private Academy is now co-ed due to declining birth rates. Bleach09 Bleach09 says...

these anime are similar in the aspect that they follow  the daily routines of the student council and feature a single guy in the student council that is otherwise full of girls

Konakaga Konakaga says...

While a way there opposite in chracter type one girl cast assumes harem wanting male, and the other has a harem wanting male, but they both follow attanics of interesting Student Council and their not so orginal members with plenty of comedy resulting from this. So if you liked one of these Seitokai series, I'd reccomend trying the other.

chii chii says...

Both anime are parodies that take place in a school setting. Seitokai Yakuindomo I found to be way more funny because of the sexual aspect of it where Seitokai no Ichizon takes on making otaku jokes to make people laugh. (most probably would go over people's heads) If you enjoyed one give the other a shot.

KittyEmperor KittyEmperor says...

For starters both series are parodies that take place in a school setting resolving around the student council.  While both series incorparates some rather nice humor to keep the viewer interested Yakuindomo tends to focus a lot more on sexual related jokes and Ichizon tends to make more otaku related jokes.  But if you enjoyed one then your sure to enjoy the other.

eaper eaper says...

These series both focus on a guy in an all girl student council. Furthermore, each of these series are almost pure comedy that is broken up into a lot of short parts. SYD is much more ecchi, however.

Chitaka Chitaka says...

Both of these anime revolve around a hillarious, random student council composed of 1 guy in an otherwise all female student council. While Seitokai Yakuindomo revolved more around verbal ecchi, or perverted humor, and Seitokai no Ichizon revolves more around pariodies of other anime, they both have extremely random nonsensical humor.

Symmetrical Symmetrical says...

Personally I LOVED both series. Ichizon and Yakuindomo has one male and many females as the student council. All the characters have fun personalities that will entertain you forever. Yakuindomo is a bit more echhi (Speech wise) than ichizon, but if you watch one, i suggest watching the other! Fun, entertaining, and hilarious!

Nyen Nyen says...

Both Seitokai Yakuindomo and seitokai no Ichizon around "the only male in the student council" theme so if you like one of them you will likely like the other. Also its got the comady. :D

kincokinco kincokinco says...

Being the only male within the student council, both of these series give you both comedy, romance, and ecchi characters that give you a good laugh. In seitokai the male protagonist is the one that is less ecchi than the rest of his fellow members, and in no Ichizon the male protagonist is the more ecchi compared to the rest of the members of student council.

Rfsancho Rfsancho says...

School council harem comedy with no plot or story. That is what these two shows have in common. They are both very funny and have a ton of clever slapstick humor. If you enjoyed one you will definitely enjoy the other.

Doomoo Doomoo says...

Both anime are really similar in setting and style. However they are far from being copies of one another. While Seitokai no Ichizon. tends to be much less perverted and forthright with it's sexual humor as Seitokai Yakuindomo but still maintains about the same about of comedic value. If you liked one you will most certainly like the other. Also, keep in mind that while these are both wonderful anime their manga counterparts are still releasing new content, so when you are done with the anime I strongly suggest you check out the manga as well.

zelight zelight says...

both anime are exactly the same, the student council, the harem and the lack of character development.

Although I don't like anime that does not have any character development, I somehow like Seitokai Yakuindomo unlike Seitokai no Ichizon, because the characters and humor are completely different(because the girls are pervert and the boy is completely decent)...

But If you like those anime that doesn't advance the story at all, you'll like them both...

Rukaliini Rukaliini says...

The plot is pretty much the same: the main boy gets a position in the Student Council, which is led by only girls. While Ichizon is about parodies and a little perverted comedy, Yakuindomo is pretty much about dirty jokes.

corkboard corkboard says...

Both are crude, fast paced school life comedies that have a harem set up but never really get into the "harem" mentality.  The pacing and comedy are very similar as is the largely episodic nature of the show, though this is truer of Seitokai Yakuindomo.  If you liked one, you'll like the other.

JohnWatchAnime JohnWatchAnime says...

Btoh anime follow a student counsil during their school life. They are both full of humour, but Seitokai Yakuindomo is more focused on sexual jokes and Seitokai no Ichizon is a parody. I highly recommend both, since they're mostly the same

wolfbankai wolfbankai says...

Both them have male lead character around bunch of girls doing pointless stuff and of course the comedy is similar , While Seitokai Yakuindomo may be more perverted , Seitokai no Ichizon has tiny bit drama towards the end.

Definetly check both if you like Comedy and scarcastic/perverted jokes.

Madoka Madoka says...

SNI and SYD (gonna sorten them for simplicity) are very a like. For starters each series follow the student council which on each series are actually very much similar to one another, SYD has a heavy use of sexual comedy and jokes thrown our way where as SNI does still have these jokes (from Ken, lead male) though focuses on jokes a little less dirty but more natural and also a fair focus on Otaku cultured jokes.

Whilst each series has it's main focus they are both great comedies which are quite random but great if you want to have a good laugh and enjoy a bit of fun. Im sure if you like one the other is going to appeal greatly to you.

Nicknames Nicknames says...

Both anime shares the same setting and the same formula. In them a boy ends up being a member of a student council full of girls and focus on the hilarious events that happen in the council. Keep in mind that the humor in Seitokai Yakuindomo is quite perverted while Seitokai no Ichizon mixes silly humor with parody. Anyway if you liked one you'll enjoy the other

Eresis Eresis says...

Both animes have the same setting built around them. A boy in a student council full of girls. And while Seitokai Yakuindomo is more focussed around sexual jokes and Seitokai no Ichizon around a harem in process, both are absolutely hilarious in their own rights

Lucky Star

Lucky Star

In present day Japan, the life of a school girl is never dull. The easily-bored Konata never finds time to study because of her otaku habits, which frustrates hard-working Kagami to no end. On the other hand, laid-back Tsukasa always manages to go with the flow, while Miyuki is concerned with keeping her status as resident know-it-all. Join these four girls as they muse and meander their way through everyday events such as eating chocolate cones, doing homework, gaming, and trips to the beach galore.

Reasons you might like Lucky Star...

Omurqi Omurqi says...

SnI and Lucky Star are both shows filled with anime parodies. If you liked the way Ichizon made gag after gag using the same group of people as steady medium, I'm sure you'll enjoy Lucky Star even more, taking the same approach, only with the jokes being funnier and the characters being more enjoyable.

eaper eaper says...

Both of these anime are centered in a school, focusing mainly on comedy and parody. Each of these anime lean heavily upon references to other anime to create the comedy they employ.

AntiMemer AntiMemer says...

Lucky Star and Ichizon both are random animes. They are very humorous even if you don't know what they are referencing to. The anime are both full of moe as well. The theme of a school is also present within the anime. The comedy themes are also similar due to the randomness. Also, the stories center around school life. These are both great animes that are recommended for eachother.

TheQi2B TheQi2B says...

Random Parody Power! That would sum up either anime in 3 words.  If you like the humour style of one i guarantee you, you will like the sense of humour in the other.

While SnI makes references in rapid fire to more recent stuff- Lucky Star's  parodies tend to last longer and are of a more timeless nature. 'timotei' ftw!

Watch either for a great laugh!

chii chii says...

Both anime are filled with parody, students doing their own thing, and completely random ideas. I found lucky star to be much better but not by much. I'd suggest watching either if you liked the other though.

Konakaga Konakaga says...

As others have said both are parody based comedies that focus on cast of cute girls mostly, if you like one of the two series, I really suggest you try the other since their somewhat similiar, and you'll probably enjoy the other.

FrozenCorgi FrozenCorgi says...

Two sides of the same coin!

If you found one hilarious, then you're highly likely to find the other one just as great. Both series are packed with references to various other series and japanese otaku culture. They both live and breathe on the comedy, and Seitokai even has the token obligatory fanservice, though I would hardly call it an Ecchi series.

If you liked one, you definately want to check out the other!

mikupinku mikupinku says...

Both anime develop in the school and have comedy and anime's parodies. If you want to know "How is your level of OTAKU?" you must watch these anime

XxFunnYxX XxFunnYxX says...

Both Seitokai no Ichizon and Lucky Star have a combination of a genre of comedy and parody.

Best of all, both of those 2 anime shows are completely random like a sit-com.

Rfsancho Rfsancho says...

The really odd out of place humor taken to the extreme is what makes these two shows similar. They do it with such great execution that it never feels wrong. The shows are very epic, definitely worth watching.

Both are one of the few Japanese anime that I find pretty funny. (I love anime but the writers usually can't do much more than gag comedy)

Both are slice of life. It kinda look similar yet has different charater desgin.

for exp-

In one anime the MC is kidnapped and in other he work hard to get the spot.

The only thing similar was the pres and the ending but I have to say I like GJ-bu little bit more than Seitoka no Ichizon. And last but not least both are good anime if you enjoy one you will most likely enjoy the other

SugarTitSenpai SugarTitSenpai says...

GJ-Bu is the Moe type Comedy, with a much cuter appeal and a less perverted side to it.

Where as Seitokai no Ichizon is a less Moe type with referals to other series.

Slice of Life Comedies, with slight Harem touches in a Club Environment make the two similar!

Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts

Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts

Fumizuki Academy is divided into classes ranked based purely on ability; Class A has laptops, reclining seats and ultimate comfort whereas Class F has to settle for a rundown classroom with rotten cushions and rickety coffee tables. Akihisa Yoshii has recently taken the placement exam and finds himself relegated to the lowly Class F along with many of his friends, and they’re far from impressed with their draughty facilities. Luckily, not all is lost as at Fumizuki, classes can declare war on each other to swap rooms by fighting with summoned characters whose strength is based on the users' test scores. As they dream of escaping their decrepit circumstances, the ‘idiotic’ students of Class F will try whatever they can to reach the dizzy heights of Class A’s luxury, even if it means taking on the entire school in an all-out summoning war!

This one is really kind of a gut reccomendation, I don't know why, but to me these shows seem a lot alike and like they would appeal to the same audience. The only thing really similar between them is the random humor in a school setting and I guess that's what ties them together...and I guess the rivalry between two school groups, but that's pretty minimal.

Doomoo Doomoo says...

Both of these appeal to the same demograph and both have a pretty similar cast. If you like one for it's comedic aspect then you will like the other. If you like one for it's story then this isn't even close but you should check it out anyway because they are definately worth the watch.

Even though the plot are as different as night and day, (wait, wheres the plot?) nevermind. You'll like one if you like the other, both of them are parody animes, in Sayounara Zetsubo Sensei the parodys are harder to notice as they are not as obivious as in Seitokai no Ichizon. Both also seem to have a faniscation with Death Note. Though not exactly similiar give one a shot if you like the other.

CotGHC is an all girls version of Seitokai no Ichizon, and uses its own material most of the time for the jokes.
