Throw Kenji Harima, the school delinquent with a crush on Tenma into the mix and you've got one twisted love triangle of unrequited proportions! Kare Kano and School Rumble are terribly familiar with their school related comedy, all related to romance and those who don't notice us. School Rumble definitely pulls off the randomness better, but these are definitely similar. If you liked one, you'd like the other.
Rei, Go, Kiyoshi, Jin and Dai (collectively known as Kimengumi) are typical students who attend class each day – but the last thing they want to do is study and learn. From baseball tournaments to play rehearsals, there’s never a dull day to be found; and although the men of the Kimengumi aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, their unexpected reactions and super-deformed transformations save them from any of the incredible situations they get themselves into. Going shopping and removing snow from the garden have never been this complicated!
Both School Rumble and Kimengumi have this kind of chaotic humor in their situations that makes them hilarious, with just enough nonsense and amusinganimations to make them seem totally crasy, yet without losing track of reality.
Kurata Sana has a very eventful life. Though she’s only in the 5th grade, she’s the star of a popular TV Show called “Child’s Toy”. She lives with her eccentric mother and her boyfriend aka manager aka pimp, and faces hell at school. Her archenemy, Hayama Akito, turns the classroom into chaos each day, but Sana is finally ready to put her foot down! Can she defeat Akito and take control of her class? And more importantly, how will she deal with the secrets she finds about him?
Both animes are very lively and funny, involving young love and the comedies of school life. Both have you laughing in nearly every episode.
Both aslo involve a young, goofy girl, full of energy and determination, braving whatever obstacles she faces (in the most hilarious of ways) and a strange, stand-offish cute boy who has strange ways of his own. Hilarous scenarios gradually bring the two closer together in frienship, perhaps even in love.
They are very uplifting, hilarous and cleverly-written romantic comedies. And here's a PLUS: If you watch the Dubbed version of both, you'll find that the main female characters are done by the same Voice Actress (who is *very* good)!
Sawamura Seiji is the most notorious delinquent at his high school -- always getting into fights and causing problems, leaving him single and unlucky with the ladies. After another long day of rejection, Seiji discovers that the love of his life might have finally appeared, but in the unlikeliest of places... his right hand?! Now, in addition to dealing with daily fights and the gossip of his classmates, Seiji must handle a new problem of embarassing proportions: Kasugano Midori, a pretty young girl in place of his hand, who happens to have fallen in love with him!
Both midori days and school rumble are full of strange humor, air headed protagonists, and confusing love-webs. They even have the same kind of delinquent with a heart of gold main character.
Meet the Minami sisters, three girls living on their own and doing their best to make it through life's little snags and adventures. Kana, the middle sister, has far more energy than common sense; Chiaki, the youngest, is more reserved, but her sharp tongue and devious mind often cause trouble for others; and Haruka, the eldest, acts like a mother to the other two, is beautiful and kind, but has a fearsome stern streak. Together, no obstacle can stand in their way, be it school, romance, or even cooking.
Both shows are very humorous in a very similar style. The art style is somewhat similar. Also, Kana from Minami-Ke and Tenma from School Rumble are very similar characters (cheerful, loud, dense and absolutely hilarious). There are also similarities in the sibling relationships (Tenma + Yakumo and the Minami sisters).
