Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Sousuke Sagara is far from the average high school student - not only is he highly trained in military tactics, he puts his knowledge to use in every single applicable situation (and even those nonapplicable ones.) So, when confronted with high school, he tends to turn average high school experiences into off-the-wall adventures. Love letters become terrorist threats and field trips become commando operations; his survival depends on the watchful eye of his best friend and classmate, Kaname. Together, they may just make it out of high school alive...

FMP Fumoffu is another anime in which a male character is put into strange and hilarious situations due to his ignorance of romance. Just like School Rumble it is quite random as well. This is a must watch if you liked the School Rumble OVA.

Yakitate might not have the romance School Rumble has, but it does have the same randomness. On top of that it also has some supporting stories that gave me a somewhat similar feeling for reasons I can't really explain.

Azumanga Daioh

Ten-year-old genius Chiyo, animal-loving Sakaki, loudmouth Tomo, athletic Kagura, weight-conscious Yomi and dim-witted Osaka are six friends who share laughs, good times, and a high school homeroom. With scary (and sometimes perverted) teachers, school festivals, penguin suits and general hilarity abounding, you can be sure that there's never a dull day in the life of one of these students!

If you liked the wacky comedy in School Rumble OVA then you should check out Azumanga Daioh. Both have the same sort of random, school based humour, so if you like that in your anime, then both of these will satisfy you.

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

School Rumble and Ouran High Host Club both very random and funny. Like School Rumble Ouran High Host Club both take place in high school and both focus heavily on relationships.

Gintama

Gintama

In Gintoki's Japan, the arrival of the various space races known collectively as the Amanto ended the era of the samurai. The Amanto's highly advanced technology resulted in total conquest and a severe economic shift. Now, former samurai such as Gintoki scrape together whatever livelihood they can. Gintoki's profession of choice is that of a yorozuya: he'll complete any job for money. However, he’s unmotivated; and spending most of the day on the couch with the latest issue of Jump and a carton of Strawberry Milk is his preferred pastime. It turns out that his new unpaid employees, Shinpachi and Kagura, are going to interfere with his pastime even more than with his "work"! Of course, none of this means he has really given up on his samurai ideologies!

Like School Rumble Gintama is completely random and very funny.  Each episode is its own story, but still features the same backstory. Both series are extermely absurd but very enjoyable.

Similar to Special A because the main character is clueless to the feelings of guy who likes her. Like Tenema she constantly says things to make the guy think she gets it and then it turns out she still has no clue.  Special A and School Rumble both feature episodes that are some what random.

Ookami and School Rumble are both similar because they are both parodies of other shows. Both take place in high school and deal with high school relationships as well as other problems.

Handa-kun

Handa-kun

Sei Handa's high school life is one that many teenagers would love to have. He is admired by both students and teachers alike for his calligraphy and he even has his own fan club known as the Handa Force. Unfortunately for Sei, who has a unique talent for misreading situations, his extreme anxiety has convinced him that everyone in school hates him! The more people fawn over him, the more he is convinced that he is being bullied. The members of the Handa Force are equally clueless, misreading every word and action from Sei as something grand or heroic and completely unaware that their daily attempts to guard him from the school's various weirdos make Sei think that they are dangerous stalkers. Will anyone ever figure out what's really going on here, or will this cycle of craziness continue until graduation?
