Why must I have a side to me that cannot let go of something until I've completed it? Really, I just want to be over with School Days already. So I watched this. It really is absolute crap you know. If you want a retread of the opening of the series, with crappy cuts and a visual style more fitting for manga, then here it is.

I'll start with the good: there is less story, so it is less annoying. There are less characters involved, so that is less annoying as well, but unfortunately there is also the need to take into account that they aren't particularly interesting. Although the main character doesn't grow to be so loathesome here, he's still annoying - which is an improvement.

Now for the bad: The animation is terrible, and the fact that there are gimmicky shots doesn't save it. The voice acting is boring, and while it isn't quite grating, it adds nothing. The story is simple, but it is only a part of a story, and one that doesn't manage to be interesting nor emotionally involving. It looks like a part of a video game rather than something which should be viewed on its own merit. The characters get zero development, and feeling for them is wrong.

Don't watch it. As much as it makes me cringe to say this, the TV show at least had a cool ending to make up for the load of crap the rest of it was. And while it is not long enough for the viewer to wallow in manure, School Days ONA has nothing going for it at all.

2/10 story
3/10 animation
4/10 sound
2/10 characters
2.5/10 overall
