She's currently locked in a fierce war with a shadowy organization, and the fate of the world may hang in the balance with each passing battle... or at least this is what she believes. In actuality, Rikka is merely a normal high school girl afflicted with chuunibyou syndrome, a "disease" that makes one prone to delusional flights of fancy. Meanwhile former chuunibyou sufferer Yuuta Togashi is enrolled at the same school, looking to put his embarrassing junior high exploits behind him. However, when Rikka discovers his past life as the "Dark Flame Master", she uses this to her advantage to include him in all of her wacky schemes! With Rikka’s zany behavior dragging him further and further from normalcy, Yuuta must try to pull her back into the real world – or risk getting sucked into hers!

Two incredible comedic romances between a relatively normal MC and an incredibly weird heroine. Sakurasou's heoine is a talented savant while Chuunibyou's heroine has chuunibyou (8th grade syndrome). The MC characters are tasked with taking care of the heroine and this situation creates a touching yet hilarious romance series. Both Sakurasou and Chuunibyou are both amazing comedic romances that you need to see.

Although those 2 series seem quite different at a first glance, both contain an interesting blend of comedy drama and romance; Kokoro Connect being more dramatic whereas Sakurasou more humoristic.

Those shows explore the relationships between a group of students and in spite of an unrealistic setting (supernatural in Kokoro Connect or a bunch of weird people living together in Sakurasou) the way those characters interact with each other and their response to the occurring situations seem quite real.

Both anime have touching emotional moments, if you enjoyed one you may want to try the other.

Both are school romcoms with a whole lot of drama and character growth. While trying to find themselves, our main characters are also falling in love and trying to best deal with the problems that soon follow all good romances. From love triangles to personal crises, there's plenty of angst to go around in both of these series.

Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon

While his classmates revel in the barnyard chores and hard labor, eager to gain skills for their careers, Yuugo is challenged and sometimes downright horrified by the things he’s having to learn, whether he’s corralling stray cows, learning the shocking truth of where chicken eggs come from, or even getting comfortable with riding a horse! Alongside peers such as the lovely Aki, Yuugo will learn all he can about agriculture, making close friends in the process.

These two anime have superficially different settings but underneath I think they are enjoyable for very similar reasons. Both bring you in with strong comedy, colorful settings filled with likable characters, catchy music, and a dash of romance (stronger in Sakurasou.) Once involved, both are distinguished by vivid characterization of both main and supporting characters, and by a serious look at what it means to search for and pursue a calling in life - in short, a coming-of-age story. Silver Spoon has the edge in cute animals and education in modern agriculture, while Sakurasou focuses on creative arts with more romance and fan-service, but I find the core themes very similar. If you enjoyed one, I suggest trying the other.
