Saiyuki is similar to Naruto in a way. Goku must deal with his alter ego that would destroy anything in its path, while Naruto also has a demon that would destroy anything in its path. Saiyuki is trying to bring peace back to humans and demons that was lost during the minus wave, and Naruto is trying to do the same in this movie. Saiyuki is similar to Naruto even though it doesn't look like it is.

Saiyuki and Bus Gamer are both based of manga by Kazuya Minekura, and if you know her work you'll know her characters are very similar from one show to another. The cast of either show very much resembles the other.

Both series follow the premise of wandering souls kept from going forward in life by their horrible pasts.

Many of the characters in Weiss have very similar additudes to those in Saiyuki. Aya/Sanzo the anal-retentive "leader"  , Schulidich/Gojyo resident flame-haired cocky know-it-all. Both series also share voice actor Seki Toshihiko.

However there are also many difference between both series which make them enjoyable for any viewer. While Weiss has a generally serious tone with occasional laughs from random flowershop fangirls or Youji's incessant flirting, Saiyuki has rather dramatic shifts from histerical laughter to extreme drama. Both series have great back stories for each of the main characters which is probable the greatest simlarity between the series. There also seems to be quite a few fans which intently follow both series.

Soul Hunter and Saiyuki are incredibly similar, from their tone and feel to the characters, to the overlying Chinese elements. While based on different stories they both take place in ancient China with a mix of new and old technology. Saiyuki is FAR superior, but fans of one still should at least appreciate the other.

Though initially it may not seem like Slap Up Party and Saiyuki have all that much in common, both series centre on a quartet travelling to fulfil their goal - and kicking some demon butt along the way. While Saiyuki seems to focus more on the fighting and Slap Up Party more on the comedy, if you enjoyed one, it may be worth checking out the other.
