Himitsu: The Revelation

Himitsu: The Revelation

In the present, murders are solved not by investigations, but by memories. Using the removed brain of a victim, the members of Forensic Investigation Office Section Nine examine the person's last thoughts to determine a suspect and motive in the case. Many oppose the violation of their loved ones' private and personal memories; but what they don't understand is that behind the scenes, even the investigators themselves are often conflicted with their deeds. Aoki Ikko is one such man who struggles to overcome his own mental doubts about his profession, while trying his best to take down those responsible for the crimes.

The interaction of the office workers in the section, as well as the relationship between the protagonist and his boss really highlight the similarities between these two series.  Add in a bit of supernatural or scifi element, and the two become a perfect complement to the other.

Madlax

Madlax

With lies and corruption seeping into the political food chain, a mysterious book in one young girl’s possession may be the only key to uncovering the truth and bringing an end to the war. This book, however, is sought by many. Those two animes differ in almost everything (plot, atmosphere, humor) but over the "girls with guns" trait, they gave me a similar feeling probably for their strong women and their pace that alternates too slow and too fast.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

The always-hungry Yako Katsuragi is a super famous high school-aged detective who cracks the hardest of cases with ease – at least, that’s what the general populace thinks! Behind the scenes, Yako is helped by Neuro – a maniacal being from the demon world who is looking for new mysteries to devour. Alongside local detectives and a helpful sidekick, Yako and Neuro will solve the unique and the bizarre cases that plague the city; but will Yako ever discover the truth behind her father’s supposed "suicide"?

Both series involve detective agencies on supernatural cases. The main characters are females who are not afraid of the dark or what lies within in it. Co-workers become freinds along the way.

Spice and Wolf

Spice and Wolf

Since long ago, the wolf goddess Holo has honored a contract to bless the rural village of Pasloe with fertile harvests; and in return she has been celebrated and worshipped by the villagers. But as mankind advances, the people have begun to take command of nature for themselves and have made their own god to worship. Holo finds that she is paid little more than lip service, if not outright mocked; and considering the contract annulled, she takes human form and enlists the aid of a passing merchant, Kraft Lawrence, to return to her home in the snowy forests to the north. As they journey together, Kraft finds that he has plenty to learn from this capricious god, and she from him as well.

If you like anime with female leads who enjoy teasing the male lead, then both Spice and Wolf and Ryoko's Case File are titles for you. Not only both of them feature such female lead, but also both of those series provide lots enterteinment by just showing the main duo talk (if you've seen any of those two you know what I mean).

Ryoko and Haruhi are similar characters. Both of them think that the world servs no other purpose than to entertain them. Both of those anime also have a male lead who ends up being dragged into all kind of trouble by the said ladies. More often than not, this involves supernatural elements.
