Fifteen-year-old Tsukune Aono is average in every way; he has no hobbies, less-than-stellar grades and he's even flunked his high school entrance exam. His parents have managed to enroll him in a school, but it's no ordinary school! Tsukune will be attending the Youkai Academy, a place where monsters learn how to co-exist with humans! As the werewolves, vampires, witches and other monsters are required to retain their human forms, Tsukune - the lone human - is able to avoid their bloodthirsty gazes. It seems Tsukune's average life isn't so average anymore!
Haruo is a short geeky schoolboy with a whiny voice and glasses, and the only one in his family without magic powers. Therefore it should come as no surprise that his life is a constant struggle to prevent being ravished by any nearby female. When a witch under a curse named Mamiya enters the fray, Haruo's precious maidenhood that he holds onto so dearly is placed in grave danger. With the added risqué brought on by the arrival of this new number one contender, Haruo's struggle becomes even more desperate, and his hidden powers begin to awaken.
Both of these animes are of the Harem variet, so if you are familiar with the breed, then you know that the themes are similar. In Magikano the main male lead is totally wanted by all the females (even his sisters) and the main female (in the case of Magikano, Mamiya) will get really angry if you touch her man. This is the same as Rosario + Vampire with Moka and Tsukune. And, of course, all the females are more than willing to fight to the death for the male in both these series. I think that if you like one you are bound to like the other.
When the students of class 2-A at the all-girls Mahora Academy head back to school, they are expecting a new year as usual. What they get is a new homeroom teacher... who's 10 years old! Kanako Miyamae hates boys so much that she breaks out into hives after any physical contact with them. So when she is able to transfer to the Ame no Kisaki Girl’s school, Kanako is overjoyed that she can now search for her fated yuri partner. When she arrives, Kanako meets Shidou Mariya, a beautiful young girl who is exactly her type... except that Mariya is really a sarcastic and sadistic young boy who is masquerading as a girl! With no intention of being expelled from school, Mariya threatens Kanako into keeping his secret, and decides to guard her twenty-four hours a day to ensure that she does. Now Kanako must share a room with Mariya who is gleefully making her life a misery while using his ‘feminine’ charms to stop her protesting. Throw into the mix Ryuuken, the most popular girl in school who has vowed to protect her; and Kiri - who claims they are dating to prevent her from being bullied - and it seems as if Kanako’s dream of all-girl school life will be nothing like she imagined!
The premises of these two series are ironically similar; A girl with homosexual preferences in an all female school in MH and a human in a school exclusive for man-eating monsters in RTV. They are both comedies targeting mainly male audiences and I am pretty sure that if you liked one, you will most likely have a few good laughs watching the other. Enjoy!

Rosario to Vampire and Rental Magic each have quite a mix of character personalities with weak male characters. On the other hand the females have strong personalities that are more than aggressive towards the males.
Maya Kumashiro is an uptight teenager who has returned to the Waldstein “Occult Academy” following her father’s death to assume his role as principal. With a hatred of the supernatural, she initially intends to run the school into the ground, but her plans are thrown into chaos when a new teacher, Minoru Abe, descends from the sky. Claiming to be a time agent, Abe informs Maya that he has been sent from the future to prevent the Nostradamus prophecies from coming to pass. With a rift to another dimension due to open at the Waldstein Academy that will lead to aliens conquering the earth, the unlikely pair must locate a mysterious object known as the Nostradamus Key and destroy it before humanity falls prey to the occult once and for all.
Both Rosario to Vampire and Occult Academy have similar themes. Secret academies that cater to students interested in the occult. Although varying greatly in execution and content, they are both worth watching if the magical school anime is your thing.
