Both Robotech and Neon Genesis center around the fight in giant Mecha vs invaders. In Robotech's case from outer space, in Neon Genesis' case it is a bit more complicated.

Robotech is more straightforward action, while Neon Genesis tries to delve a bit deeper into the reasons for fighting and humanity.

Both shows deal with young adults having to face invaders in giant mecha. Robotech is the more serious of the two, while Nadesico basically pokes fun at shows like Robotech.
