Although the animation and the humor are a little more modern, the first thing I thought when I saw the first episode of Inuyasha was "RANMA!". So, if nothing else, it will remind you of Ranma at first, but InuYasha is a VERY good epic story.

Ranma and Inuyasha's manga were made by the same artist. Ranma takes places in the city and has martial arts tournaments, while Inuyasha fights demons. Both main characters love the female hero and both anime aren't confusing - they are good romantic stories and have a lot of action, and have a lot of episodes as well.

It would be hard not to see any similarities between each series' main couple; They interact with each other almost the same way! Both stories are slow paced, and both men have problematic transformations to deal with.

Both anime series are created by the same person, the storylines are similar in the way that the two male charecters in each have problems with transforming into other forms of themselves. Inuyasha into a full fledge demon, while Ranma into a young red headed girl. Both charecters are in love with the female heroine in a sort of awkward romance. Ranma is more comedy becasue it takes place in modern times, while Inuyasha is a little more serious because it takes place in feudal Japan. If you enjoyed Inuyasha, you'll love Ranma 1/2 and vise versa!

The series InuYasha and Ranma 1/2 I think is made by the same person. Their stories are alike. It starts off with a boy and a girl who hate eachother. The girl is always the damsel in distress and the guy is always left to save her. They both always get into fights. It involves fighting, martial arts, etc.

If you enjoyed watching this funny and romantic anime, then you're sure to love the other. Why? Because its manga counterpart was created by the same person, Rumiko Takahashi. Also, the stories are very similar, only the setting and seriousness levels are different. There's still love triangles and drama, mythical creatures, and main characters that have more than one form. So if you liked this, try out the other.

If you like Inuyasha, I think you'd like Ranma 1/2. (or vice versa) They are both romantic comedies with unusual twists! Both written by Rumiko Takahashi, they have similar moods and language, as well as character attitudes. Inuyasha and Ranma are both rough-and-tough guys (most of the time) with secrets to hide, and much to prove. If that wasn't enough, they're reluctantly falling in love with whom they'd least expect!

Well, firstof all they are both the works of Rumiko Takahashi, and are very fun to watch with very interesting characters.  Although Ranma quickly dives into a fun sort of ridiculousness, and InuYasha gets more serious, they both have similar themes in that the main character is half of one thing and half of the other and is dreaming of making himself all one thing.  Both main characters also have a girl that they obviously love, but are not emotionally equipped (or mature enough) to deal with it.  Also you will find a counterpart to almost every character in each series.  After a while they both have the same voice actors.

Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha were both very much alike, considering they were both created by Rumiko Takahashi. While InuYasha is more actiony with romance stirred in, Ranma 1/2 is more romance like with less action. If you liked one, you will definitly like the other.

Both Inuyasha and Ranma½ are written by Rumiko Takahashi; as a result, both of these series share the same art style and the same style of romance/comedy.

While their storylines are completely different and unreleated, many similarities can be seen between the characters of the series. Inuyasha is a lot like Ranma, where Kagome is a lot like Akane; in addition, Koga is a lot like Ryoga.

Inuyasha is more storyline focused, while Ranma tends to be more random comedic fun. However, there are many similarities in style that are immediately recognizable by fans of the other series.

As a result, if you liked one series there is a good chance you would enjoy the other.

If you had watched Inuyasha I suggest you watch Ranma 1/2 and vice versa. In both series, the lead female charater- Kagome (from Inuyasha) and Akane (from Ranma 1/2) are both put into situations they can't control for example, in Inuyasha Kagome is forced to search for the sacred jewel shards while in Ranma 1/2, Akane is forced into an aranged mariage, they both have to deal with jelousy for the lead male- Inuyasha and Ranma, which leads me to my next reason.

In both, the two males both have two or more females' affection, Kagome and Kikyo for Inuyasha and Ranma has Akane and Shampoo. They both have to over come the womans' emotion and deal with the tears.

If you had seen/read any of these and are a fan of Rumiko Takahashi, then defenatly see/read the other but if you liked the battle scenes and seriousness in Inuyasha, don't expect it from Ranma 1/2 because while there are some action, there are lots of funny scenes and joking.

The both are stories with lots of fun based on a relation of a boy and a girl that have to do things together. They fight together and love is on the air, but not enough to tell each other directly. In addition, main boy characters transform and depend a lot of girls. Finally, there are a lot of creatures or animals around them.

theyre both about hard headed boys that are super strong, and inlove with a woman who are just as strong just that they have a hard time showing their love, they both have their love rivals, the perverted old man (in inuyasha the old man is a flea) and their comedy bits.

i sincerely love inuyasha it was the anime that introduced me into this world, after that came ranma. hold a strong place in my heart so theyre a must!

For the thing on every anime that is based on the manga from Rumiko Takahashi such as Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 because both Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 are made by the same Creator herself because for Ranma 1/2 is probably a lot more similar before Inuyasha but for Inuyasha however in the Yasha is basically more feudal era Japan because in the English dub of both Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 because the English voice actor Richard Ian Cox did voice Ranma saotome in the anime series Ranma 1/2 and he did voice Inuyasha in InuYasha anime series I guess because that a lot makes more sense.

Urusei Yatsura is from the same author as Ranma, and is also a great 80's series. It is a very entertaining series, though I haven't watched it all. It's LONG... But, if you enjoyed one of these series, I am sure you will like the other.

Aside from being from the same manga author, both of these series feature a young man faced with multiple love interests and the most outlandish series of adventures. These romantic comedies are sure to please, and both fit nicely into the 'classics' category. Go Rumiko Takahashi!

Both of these rather long series are based on Rumiko Takahashi's manga (the highest paid manga artist, or was). They are both crazy, wild, outrageous comedies featuring comic violence and romance. Urusei Yatsura is older taking place in the '80s, while Ranma 1/2 is from the '90s. Newer fans of Takahashi may be unfamiliar with the earlier Urusei Yatsura series and may well want to check it out.

Not only Rumiko Takahashi fans should make sure to watch both anime series because of the epic greatness of all her creations.

Both Ranma ½ and Urusei Yatsura only have enclosed episodes and are all about one sided love - or well, is it really one sided? Watch 'em and you'll see!

For you who like romantic more than action, but don't want to lose the fun, this is your anime. When I first watched Ranma i thought that was like the best anime ever, the only anime that made me feel like it was an even better anime was Urusei Yatsura.

Both anime are works of Rumiko Takahashi, so drawing a similarity here isn't a large stretch of the mind. However, both shows have a number of similarities. Both have a proposed marriage as the backdrop for the events of the show, as well as a quasi-high school setting. Both also dig deeply into mythology and culture, Japan in the case of Urusei Yatsura, and China in Ranma 1/2. Fans of one are sure to enjoy the other, and luckily for them, both had a very long run of over 150 episodes.

For starters both made by Rumiko Takahashi so you may like it because it's another one of her works. But if you wanna go deeper Rumiko Takahashi used some stuff from Urusei Yatsura as a prototype in a way. For example Ryuunosuke shares alot of traits with Ranma(or vice versa) like being good at fighting, gender identity crisis and having bastard dads. Another example is Asuka and Tobimaro's mother(urusei yatsura) can do the "angry big-head" technique which Soun Tendou(Ranma 1/2) perfected.

Bot Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2 were based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi is that both of these series were had the unlikeliest characters that had these types of situations and live triangles and harems especially for the female suitors on each of them for the testimony two or less than the credibility of how it's going on.

Being a teenage boy is not that easy, but being a boy's mind in a girl shape is far more difficult (Think of it you guys)! Both anime have very comical situations due to the ambiguity of the characters, and are nice to see.

Here we have two animes built around the same gimmick: a magical change of gender. In "Tenshi na Konamaiki", the main character is a boy who is changed into the most beautiful of women. In "Ranma½", the protagonist is a martial artist who is afflicted with a magical curse that changes him from male to female when immersed in cold water. Both anime explore the ramifications of the changes in very different ways. "Ranma½" takes a superficial approach, whereas "TnK" adopts a more psychological (if no less humorous) angle. For Japanese speakers, there is the added bonus that both characters are voiced by the same seiyuu, veteran Hayashibara Megumi - and the way that she deals with gender-specific words in Japanese, in the two roles, is worthy of a study in itself. Superficial similarities aside, these are two very different anime - but you owe it to yourself to see them both, because each will provide you with a better understanding of the other.

Ranma and TnK are probably two of the best romantic anime's out ther... which is odd, considering the afflictions of their respective main characters. This probably works because the trouble brought about by these curses provides awkward situations which make you want to cheer on the main character (as well as extending the course of the romantic entanglement, as it wouldnt doo to just have the couple fall together) Additionally, the curse gives both Ranma and Megumi very similar attitudes towards life. And of course you have the undefeatable antagonist... happosai and the pierot good stuff all round

Similar in that both involve gender confusion and multiple love possibilities. There is also the supernatural eliment in both such as magic and the fighting though more fighting in ranma and more realistic fighting in cheeky angel. Personally i find angel to be enjoable and short and ranma to be a long and funny series that had possibilities to be even longer had they felt the need.

We take for granted how strong gender identity manipulates the way a person thinks and function. The mother of all romantic comedies. Ranma 1/2 is full of martial arts mayhem, compromising situations, making it every ounce as funny as Love Hina. Also, Akane is likely the only other anime character that can launch a guy as far as Naru does.

If you're a fan of Ranma then the odds are you'll probably enjoy Love Hina for all the same reasons. The most obvious similarity between the two is that they are both Harem series in which the main charactes are constantly being smacked around by the rest of the cast. However, what makes both of these series great though is the romantic developement. Like Ranma, Love Hina is full of misunderstandings and lover's quarrells. The constant romantic uncertainty leaves the viewer craving a resolution. Beyond that, both series are light hearted, comedic, and a lot of fun to watch.

Both series feature humorous love triangles with humans changing into animals and other things. In Ranma's case, with a splash of cold water, you have a boy that can change into a girl, a girl that changes into a cat, and another boy that changes into a cute black pig. There are many other characters that change as well, but you would have to watch the series to find out ;) Both Ranma and Fruits Basket have extensive love triangles and plenty of situational comedy. Ranma is a tad more mature with the gratuitous female nudity and also a good deal of martial art fighting storylines, while Fruit Baskets is more relationship driven. Neither have a lack of humor, that's for sure.

Both of these anime feature teenagers that transform into animals.  On top of that they both have romance and love triangle elements, often verging on harem.  While Fruits basket is more serious and has a continuous plot they share a similar style of humour and explore many of the same themes.

If you like Ranma 1/2 you might love the anime series Fruits Basket because Fruits Basket is probably one of those Another Love Triangle anime titles Clifford the anime Fruits Basket however it's kind of like Ranma 1/2 but there is no martial arts in Fruits Basket but only more different from other animes but for Ranma 1/2 however there is romance martial arts comedy love triangle which is probably a lot more different than any other anime in general.

Both anime centre around a main male character who is put into a lot of delicate situations because of the people around him, weather it be because of being hit on, out of jealousy or just because they don't like him. They have sillimar comedic styles which i found hillarious and they are both extremely entertaining to watch.

So in many ways of anime both Ranma 1/2 and Tenchi Muyo is that these are the same anime titles that has a main character which is basically a boy that gets away with too many girls just like in other anime such as Urusei Yatsura.

got the same feeling when i started watching School Rumble.. Both animes have hilarious stories and characters... I like School Rumble more but if you like Ranma you should checkout School Rumble. A must watch if you're looking a comedy anime.

Seen this as a kid and some years ago the complete series, it realy has the feeling of a Ranma 1/2 like cartoon, all the fun u'll get from 80's anime with a lovestory on the background ...

Trying to be a woman isn't easy when you were born a man. Ranma and Hibiki each have to try and conceal their secrets if they wish to overcome their unique set of obstacles. Cute cross-dressing action on both sides, although ranma is prone to actually BECOME a girl. Certainly worth watching for a good laugh.

The main point about Rurouni Kenshin has captured to the importance then you have Ranma 1/2 it looks more different from apart where as Ranma 1/2 has martial arts and a love triangle and comedy but for Rurouni Kenshin it deals with A wandering samurai who was once a manslayer  from the beginning of the year of the meiji restoration in Japan.
