Certain schools have their own traditions and ways of doing things – something Kouno Tooru discovers when the student council of the Fujimori high school insists that he dress like a girl! Along with two other boys chosen for their remarkable beauty, Kouno is given the task of brightening up the dull days of an all-boys high school. Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran High School Host Club main image

Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...

Both Princess Princess and Ouran are just wonderful, and I'm sure that if you liked the many costumes, crazy characters and many funny scences of of one there is no way you wouldn't like the other.

LaughOnceInARedMoon

While Princess Princess has guys dressing up as girls, Ouran High School Host Club has a girl dressing up as a guy. Both have the same type of humor, and both have lively characters. If one makes you laugh then so will the other.

NomadicWriter

both these animes are high-school life with a twist, where ouran high school host club is a wealthy school offering services for the females of the school, where haruhi gets sucked into crossdressing to pay off a debt, Princess Princess is about three crossdressing straight male students who get bribed with school privalages if they cheer on the male students because there are no girls around. Both animes are hilarious and i thought very much alike.

sabutaatti

I can see similarities of Ouran High School Host Club's and PrincessPrincess' characters and theme. They got same personalities of having fun and protect each other in the tight situations. Princess-system make me feel that could be Ouran High School Host Club's sister organization: they got same goal! Serve their customers by their lovely personalities and costumeplayings.

LLORAtheLLAMA

Both of these shows have very lively characters with each a unique personality. There's also some crossdressing involved! A girl as a guy in Ouran High School and boys as girls in Princess Princess.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru main image

There’s no denying that Mizuhu is beautiful. Normally that might be a bit of a disadvantage seeing as he is an average sort of boy who enjoys sports and games. However, his beloved grandfather has just passed away, and the will includes a strange request; his grandfather wants him to become closer to his mother's memory by attending the same all-girls academy she did for a semester. Obviously he can't hide his gender from the teachers of the school; so he will need their approval, but he also can't expose his gender in front of his fellow students. With the help of his child-hood friend Mariya, his own natural beauty, and just a little bit of luck, Mariya may just be able to fool his fellow students! Considering the turn of events, there may be more to his grandfather's dying request than meets the eye...

This is a 'well DUH' rec. There are rather few anime where the main plot is that a male character crossdressing in a school environment; the two I have found so far is Princess Princess and Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru. So if you (like me) wanted to see cute boys crossdress now you know the next anime to watch.

vortexchick

Cross-dressing is always hilarious, especially when its in a boy forced into it. In princess princess you'll find 3 boys dressing as girls to go along with tradition and in Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru you find kind-hearted Mizuhu dressing as a girl in-order to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish. Though the reasons are different the results are the same... many skirt wearing ackward moments.

TotallyLovable

There is always hilarious events coming along with cross-dressing, especially when boys cross-dress! In both series there are these handsome boys, who are forced to cross-dress either because of the long traditions of the school, or because of their grandfather's will. In either way, there are deffinitely hilarious moment and unexpected situations - for one thing, how come Mizuho doesn't like being in an all-girls school when he's a boy? Despite all the similarities, while Kouno and Yuujiro from Princess Princess want to escape from being mistaken for girls, Mizuho from Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru absolutely doesn't want to be discovered, afraid of the consequences.

Well then, have fun watching! =]

Gwape

If you like pretty guys crossdressing then these are the animes for you. Both have diffrent plots yet they have thier similarities.

Each guy has his reasons for crossdressing, (Well maybe not each guy aka Mikoto) from Mizuhu's grandfather's dying wish to being paid to be a princess. From hilarious events to serious conflicts, if you liked one you would love the other.

cassiesheepgirl

Both Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru and Princess princess centre around male students in high school that end up dressing as women. Both series also share a similar style of humour. If you liked these aspects of one you may like the other.

Gakuen Heaven

Gakuen Heaven main image

As Ito Keita looks at the envelope in his hand, he is both excited and worried. Inside is the renowned "Platinum Letter", an invitation to the most esteemed boys-only high school in the country: Bell Liberty. Only the very best students are considered for this special academy, and each must display an outstanding skill or talent to be admitted. So with average grades and no special skills to speak of, why is Keita now finding himself on the bus to Bell Liberty? Will he be able to find his place among the elite, or find out why the school chairman himself issued the invitation?

Both Princess Princess and Gakuen Heaven are based on boys' love games of the same name respectively, so there's plenty of cutesy pretty-boy behaviour to be found here. Where Princess Princess is rather light on the actual shounen ai aspect, however, Gakuen Heaven makes it abundantly clear (and I quote, "A bunch of men together calls for some naked socializing!").

If you found yourself wanting a bit more out Princess Princess, Gakuen Heaven is for you. Conversely, if that series was too heavy on the gay ol' times, Princess Princess is less in-your-face about it. Despite the drag. Really.

Ran

The humour of both series is very similar, from unexpected situations to ecchi references to the character interactions. Gakuen Heaven and Princess Princess both show the evolution of the character relationships, as well.

RapidYaoiOtaku27

Princess Princces has a whole bunch of shonen ai in it. Cross-dressing boys and a bunch of comedy. A boy/boy kiss. Pretty much both of these series have Yaoi or shonen ai tendencies.

Gakuen Heaven like Princess Princess takes place at an all boys school. Now tell me if there are no girls in site, the guys will get frustrated right? So they turn to eachother ^___~ This anime is filled with drama, romance, and boy/boy kisses. I can't say theres any cross dressing but if your a yaoi fan girl like myself I will take all responsability if you watch Gakuen Heaven and aren't satisfied in the least!

Day22

This is more shounen-ai. It's really fun and light just like Princess Princess. The main character has a big resemblence to the characters in Princess Princess

RAWRified

While Princees Princess is undoubtably the sillier of the two, both will leave you gaping at the pure silliness of it all. Gravitation has its serious moments though, but both contain that ridiculous humour at heart.

Sukisho

Sukisho main image

On the road to recovery, his steady progress is interrupted when he acquires a new roommate (who supposedly is his childhood friend), Fujimori Sunao. Yet another pair of boys' love games turned anime, Princess Princess and Sukisyo have a very similar style of cute humour (accentuated with scenes of chibi-fied characters), pretty boys, and suggestion to feed the imagination.

While Sukisyo doesn't cut corners in portraying the love between men (come to think of it, I don't remember seeing even one female person in the show...), Princess Princess is more subtle, despite the main plot device being boys in drag, and settles for innuendo to indicate the shounen ai factor.

cassiesheepgirl

Both Princess Princess and Sukisho both share a siilar sort of tone. Both are set in an all boys school and focus on the relationships between the central characters. As can be expected there is a good dose of shounen-ai in both series and they also share a similar style of comedy. If you liked one then it is worth trying the other.
