Awayuki Himeno is a normal schoolgirl who is in a bind: her father’s remarriage yielded two new cruel stepsisters, and to top it off, she meets seven men who call themselves Liefe Knights. They reveal to her that she's a Pretear, someone who can lend powers to them when their powers aren’t enough to defeat the evil creatures called mayouchuu. Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...
Both these shows are about girls that transform and have to fight evil beings. In both of these you understand why the evil person became that way and feel sorry for them. Both these shows have some romance and inner stugules inside the main girls.
If you want an anime that contains magic powers, love, friendship, good vs evil fights Pretear and Sailor Moon (all SM series) are both what you've been looking for. Personally , I simply love SM because it was my very first anime and at first I couldn't find anything that would suit me, but after I saw Pretear I was completely satisfied with it. You can say that Pretear is a shortened version of Sailor Moon, despite the fact that the subject is different. All that matters is the way they treat the subject .
Long ago the Gods of the heavens fought with humans over the Akuto – a power that can create anything. Now, separated by time and space from the realm of humans, a war is raging between the heavens over the little remaining Akuto. As the floating Magical Kingdom is on the brink of destruction, both worlds are in danger and there is now only one hope for salvation. King Munto of the Magical Kingdom descends to earth in order to find Yumemi, a thirteen year old girl who has always been able to see the islands in the sky. He explains that when his kingdom falls, the human territory will become a land of death and Yumemi’s hidden powers are the only way to prevent it. But can Yumemi’s ability really solve everything when the fear of such power causes the fighting to escalate?
In both of these stories you start with a girl. She is normal. She suddenly realizes that she is different and must save the world. Both the girls have trouble excepting that they are different and both end up on the verge of despere. But they find their courage and will to persevere.
in both animes at the begining we start with a girl who apparently looks normal, unaware of the power she possesses then she suddenly realizes that she is the only one who can save the world.Both girls encounter difficulties in reaching their goal.If you like one of this two then for sure you will like the other one as well.
A magical kingdom in trouble, an ordinary girl with extraordinary powers, and beautiful sequences. The two series have a similar vibe to them, and both are about facing your inner self.
The average Tsukushi Makino attends the snobby, elite Eitoku Academy, which is dominated by the Flower Four (F4) – the sons of the most powerful families. Like the rest of her classmates, Tsukushi keeps a low profile until one day she can stand it no more! For her obstinance, the F4 declare war and it's Tsukushi against all. In the middle of it all, she finds herself drawn strangely close to two of the F4; they might not be as bad as they seem. Both series follow a young lady who has been put into a situation that has many many obstacles. Each girl has an inner strength and will to overcome, they will never give up and remain fairly positive no matter what. I find that the main character in each of these series is very spunky and won't take any crap, they both are super energetic, and at times a little over the top. Both series are reverse harems in which a group of boys surround the female protagonists. Following the reverse harem tradition, there is a lovely touch of romance that makes your heart beat a little faster. If you loved one, you will love the other!
The heroines in Pretear and Hana Yori Dango have the strength to overcome whatever may be in their way. While Pretear is a little more supernatural based and Hana Yori Dango is based in the reality of life the two share the common ground of inner strength and power felt between the main female leads.

Even as they come to Akane’s side, they must first fight their own demons before they can help her return Kyou’s gods…
Both anime are about a girl who tries to save the world with the help of several friends. Both series combine romance, fun, magic and action.They both follow about the same progression. Although Himeno from Pretear also has to deal with her attitude and her feelings while Akane's personality doesn't develop so much.
in both anime, the people in their magical land are in need of a a girl to save their land. and these people are really similar in both anime. soon, they care about each other and everything..
Both of these series feature a lead girl who is suddenly told she has unique powers and has a great destiny. She is thrown into a world she doesn't understand filled with terrifying monsters and a group of men who have sworn to protect her, whether they like it or not. Some of the group interactions are very similar and the tone is also very close.
Both of these animes involve the reverse harem and some bishies with supernatural abilities aiding a girl that until NOW didn't know she had powers. With world destruction on the line, the protagonists must come to terms with their new powers, budding love interests, and plot twists. If you like some interesting action scenes and girls that must overcome the odds, you'll like these two.
