A young galaxy is crumbling and their queen is in a deep slumber - but there is hope, for according to prophecy a young girl will become the "Etoile" and save them. Shipping one hundred talented girls to their land, the queen and her nine guardians look for the Etoile to no avail - save for one: Angelique, an insecure and clumsy girl from the countryside. It is she who is destined to fulfill the prophecy. Eventually Angelique accepts her fate, but with so many obstacles to overcome and with doubts in her heart, can she succeed in saving the galaxy?
Both series are about a girl who is chosen to save the world with the help of group of men with special abilities. Both series are very romantic and they follow the same progression. If you liked one, you would surely like the other.
Both Pretear and Angelique center around a normal everyday girl that gets whisked away into a magical situation. Both deal with the main heroine surrounded by hot looking guys trying to save the earth.
If you've watched either Angelique or Pretear then I strongly recommend you watching the other one. The two have the same kind characters and ideas that make them both great. Both of the main characters are girls who think that they're not special in any way and can't be of help to anyone - plus they're surrounded by guys that are sworn to protect them and fight alongside them. In Pretear the story is more comical - but in both anime are genres of shoujo, magic, romance and comedy. In both Angelique and Pretear you'll find yourself cheering the main character on as she attempts to fulfill her duty and make sturdy relationships with the characters.
If you enjoyed either Pretear or Angelique ~When the Heart Awaknes~ - then the other is a MUST see!
Both girls have some sort of prophecy and powers as well as a band of men who protect them.
Tohru Honda is a compassionate girl who is down on her luck. Her mother having recently died, she has been forced to camp out in the woods for shelter. However, things start to turn around once she is invited to live with class hunk Yuki Sohma and his family... but all is not as it seems! Yuki's family is burdened with a dark curse which causes them to turn into the animals of the Chinese zodiac once hugged by a member of the opposite sex... and Honda may be the only one who can help them.
Both are harem based with one girl and several guys. Also, the main characters both are very lifelike and open to the male counterparts, so consider either series if you like optimistic, energetic shoujos.
Both series revolve around young ladies who keep a positive attitude no matter the situation. Each girl has her own set of family problems, but with a can do attitude, and a group of boys surrounding them, they survive and even flourish. If you love the energy and romance in one, you will surely love the other. ^^
Both main characters Himeno and Honda have unfortunate fate, but they both have very strong personalities - they always try to go on and try to understand people around them. And that's probably why they are chosen to fulfill difficult tasks. It may seem like very sad series according to my previous sentences, but both of them are also very funny. If you liked one, you would surely like the other.
Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...
Pretear and Sailor Moon are about girls transforming to fight evil. The difference is in Pretear we got one girl surrounded by a few male super heroes together fighting evil while in Sailor Moon we got lots of girls fighting along side one male hero. Magic is used in both when fighting evil, and in both the characters have regular school lives outside of fighting the evil trying to take over the world. If you like the fighting evil and want to watch it repetively than go for Sailor Moon, with the reverse being true for Pretear with a short and sweet story.
Both these shows are about girls that transform and have to fight evil beings. In both of these you understand why the evil person became that way and feel sorry for them. Both these shows have some romance and inner stugules inside the main girls.
If you want an anime that contains magic powers, love, friendship, good vs evil fights Pretear and Sailor Moon (all SM series) are both what you've been looking for. Personally , I simply love SM because it was my very first anime and at first I couldn't find anything that would suit me, but after I saw Pretear I was completely satisfied with it. You can say that Pretear is a shortened version of Sailor Moon, despite the fact that the subject is different. All that matters is the way they treat the subject .
Guided by a star only they can see, a group of maidens known as HiMEs have begun to gather at Fuuka Academy. These young women have been endowed with dangerous supernatural powers that they can use to their heart's content, but there's a price: to wield them, they must put their most important thing on the line. Now, in the midst of school work and friendships, they find themselves caught in the midst of strange conspiracies seemingly related to the terrifying monsters that attack them. Is the power of the HiMEs strong enough to save themselves and the ones they love?
Both series feature strong female leads with newfound powers that have to save the world. Both females have some trouble deciding whether or not to accept their new powers and must determine how to balance love with trying to save everyone. Both series were very emotional and I'm sure if you liked one, you'll definitely like the other.
If you loved Mai-Hime, you'll definitely fall for Pretear (or vice versa) as both stories revolve around troubled heroines who don't understand why they have been granted special powers, and why they should use them to save the world. However, Mai-Hime tends to be more serious while Pretear is more fairy tale-like.
Both these animes are different but i can recommend that anyone who has seen one would love the other, there is more action in My Hime than Pretear, but they are both about girls discovering who they are and what they have to do to protect the people they love, yes they have similarities and differences mainly being the action of the fighting scenes.

Angelic Layer and Pretear have plenty of spirit. Just because you think you can't do something, that doesn't mean that hard work and good friends can't make it happen! Both of our heroines have a good head on their shoulders and use a lot of might and will power to get where they want to be!
Angelic Layer and Pretear are both very similar in that a young girl protagonist must face the odds and overcome. Each do it a little differently, but they both are always positive and upbeat, never trying to hurt anyone or to let others suffer. They both have a magical element in a sense, and both have a little romance. If you loved one, I have no doubt that you will love the other.
If you work hard and try your best you can strive and meet your goal. That is the message that both Angelic Layer and Pretear present to viewers. Both of the heroines in the series have a certain goal that they want to obtain and friends along boost their confidence and keep them moving to reach that goal.
