Once there lived an eccentric author called Drosselmeyer who wrote grand tragedies - one of them was the tale of a prince who sealed away an evil raven by breaking his own heart into tiny pieces. However, before the story could be completed, the author died and the tale took on a life of its own. Now, in a town where fiction and reality meet, the story continues on its tragic course with Ahiru, a duck who transforms into the beautiful Princess Tutu in order to restore the prince's heart. But will Ahiru's act of love be enough to defy the story's terrible destiny and lead to a happy ending?
Because there are noumerous similarities. First of all being phisical resemblance between pretear and Tutu, the fact that they are the same type of magical girls, the evil female charachter that isnt really evil, butloves/loved the main male character, transformations that are really alike and a bunch of other similarities. For me, the two series have the same feel
If you like Pretear you will love Princess Tutu! It has a relatively simple and happy plot with a feel-good tone and beautiful animation! But don't be fooled, there is deep truth in this short series, just like Pretear!!
Who doesn't like girls who transform to save the day? Both Pretear and Princess Tutu are about a girl who shows us that, if you believe in yourself and have faith, you can do anything.
Both Princess Tutu and Pretear are based on our heroine walking into a modern fairytale. The artwork in both is beautiful and the heroines of both are very pure and selfless characters. Plus you'll love each heroine's respective "prince" and want to cheer them on to end up with their love.
Pretear and Princess Tutu both integrate a number of Western fairy tales into their plots. Pretear typically takes the lighter and more fun elements of fairy tales, while Princess Tutu takes the darker aspects. As such, Pretear is more upbeat and just plain fun to watch (and more typical of the magical girl genre); Princess Tutu has a more serious and unusual plotline and has more complicated thematics.
Princess Tutu and Pretear are both excellent series that follow two young girls who are attempting to save the things they care about. Both young ladies were chosen for this task, and face trials and many obstacles to overcome and succeed. Both contain a little bit of a reverse harem, and always lots of energy and can do attitude. If you love one, you'll for sure love the other. =]
First of all, both of these series were worked on by Junichi Sato--and it shows. The similarities are remarkable enough that it almost seems like Princess Tutu is a spiritual sucessor to Pretear. The main heroines are very similar, as well as the Dark Magical Girl and their relationships with the two main guys in each series. Both have fairytale motifs throughout. I think that Tutu has a better plot, since it has more time to develop the characters and really gets into the fairytale theme, but if you enjoyed one, there's a huge chance you'll like the other.
Pretear and Princess Tutu are literally one of the same. Both animes use a female as its main heroine and uses knights for its heros. In Princess Tutu she starts off a duck then a human and then finally becomes Princess Tutu; meanwhile in Pretear the leadin character is just an average girl who is trying to adjust to life since her dad remarried on of the wealthest people around.
Main characters are undergoing transformations in order to save the world from the evil female character. They're always happy, and they will risk anything for the ones they care about. Both evil female characters had some type of relationship with the main male character. Both are shoujo and magical girl anime. Both have a very emotional plot with love triangles.
both shows have a very happy feel to them and center around a very girl oriented auience. i highly suggest either show if you are sad or if you have young girls looking for a tv show since either one is approiate for young children and are easily relatable and likeable charecters
While reading "The Universe of the Four Gods", best friends Miaka and Yui are mysteriously transported into a strange world full of magic and unfamiliar faces. As if their arrival was determined by fate, Miaka is revered as the Priestess of Suzaku, the savior of their warring country, who was destined to arrived in a flash of light, from a land far away. Betrayal, love, and heartache accompany this fantasy-filled tale of friendships torn apart, and hope that never fades.
Brought to another world and caught up in a known story...... Just like Himeno is trapped into another world the girl in this series is too. Miaka is drawn into a book and ends up pretty much like Himeno. She falls in love with a character of the story just like Himeno. This is another wonderful romance series, and you better check it out if you liked Petear.
I put these two in a category called "girl with strange powers & her various guardians." If you liked the drama and romance in Pretear and are looking for something similar with a totally different setting, check out Fushigi Yuugi.
Both anime series are similar in that their main characters are the center of attention for various bishounen. Trust me when I say you'll love Fushigi Yuugi if you loved Pretear. It's romantic as well! And if you were as sad as I was that Pretear was only a 12-episode anime, don't fret- Fushigi Yugi has 52 episodes!
Both heroines in Fushigi Yugi and Pretear have a partner who has a cold and grumpy facade but actually is very warm and gentle at their core . Both guys harsh most of the time to the heroines. So if you like that love-hate relationship where the heroine is often times the one who comes out stupid (^__^), careless and very cute/charming, I recommend these series.
These two anime are the same in the basic structure; characters transcend worlds, and everyday girls accept responsibilities and become extraordinary heroines. Both Miaka and Himeno have that off-beat character design that makes them achieve for goals we see aren't in reach; for instance Himeno's existence in the upper class family and Miaka's entrance into an elite high school. Then, we see them becoming lovely maidens with servants to help and be protected by. And of course, the love affair between servant and master is always a juicy one.
Both anime are about a girl who tries to save the world with the help of several friends. They are both well animated. Both series combine romance, fun, magic and action. They follow really about the same progression, although Pretear is too short to be as developed as Fushigi Yugi.
Pretear and Fushigi Yugi are similar in many ways:
Throughout the anime, I also had the gut feeling that both of these animes were alike. I believe that if you like one of these, you will definitely like the other.
The style of each show is the same in that they are shojo-type romances full of action and adventure. They also throw a normal, high school girl into a magical setting where she is the "chosen one" destined to complete a mission that will save people from destruction. They are also both reverse harem shows with all the love traingles that go with them. The main characters in both shows are very similar: clumsy, brave when they need to be, dedicated to their mission, and just a little more dedicated to getting the guy they want. The villians in each are similar too-no one really wants to hurt them because they are not who they seem to be. Overall the shows had a very similar feel and if you liked one I really think you will like the other.
Hinamori Amu is a stylish punk rock girl who is liked and feared by her peers, but there's just one problem: she's actually a shy and quiet girl who can't seem to drop her self-fabricated facade! But when Amu finds three eggs in her bed, she had no idea her life would change forever. Out of the eggs pop Ran, Miki and Su, Amu's Guardian Charas; these being represent parts of Amu that she wishes she could be, even allowing Amu to transform into those parts at will! Now, with pressure from the other Guardians (including her crush, Hotori) to join their midst, dark sides of the psyche known as X Eggs to seal, and nefarious forces after a wish-granting egg known as the embryo, Amu's life has officially become more complicated!
both Shugo Chara and Pretear have magical girl as main tag. Both main characters have weird powers and weird personalities.Even though there are many differences between this two, at what i mentioned above they are very much alike so im sure that if u watched one of this two you will enjoy the other as well
If you liked Pretear i suggest Shugo Chara, and vise-versa. They are both "magical girl" types. They also have many transformations, just Shugo they transform with Guardian Characters. And Pretear transforms with Leafe Knights. Either way they are very good matches for each other. So they are both worth the time to watch and enjoy.
Both series have female protagonists who suddenly become "magically able". They both have to solve magical problems happening in their neighbourhood. Both series are mainly focussed on the interaction between characters.
If you liked one, check out the other.
Both anime are about a girl that doesn't believe in her self. And one day she become important. Both anime have hansome guys who care a lot about the main char. By chugo chara! is it Ikuto who cares about amu and by pretear is it hayate about Himeno.
Both anime have humor in it. Pretaer is a short anime Shugo chara! is longer and has 3 seasons.
Romance, Magical Girl, Romance, Comedy and monsters..... what else isnt there the same.
Yes the storyline is diffo but the elements.. to it.. not much diffo.
It's just enough to be unique so its not seen as "The Same" and "Boring"
shugo chara and pretear story plot is very different but the main characters have the same traits. Both main characters think bad of themselves until some stranger(s) come and ask for their help. Both animes have monsters and reveal the history of the bad guys making you feel sorry for them and the bad guys change their ways with the influences of the main characters
For Niwa Daisuke, turning 14 should be accompanied by romance and the promise of new adventures into adulthood, but instead comes with a surprising revelation: all male children of the Niwa's bloodline inherit the powers (alter ego) of Dark, a phantom thief, upon their 14th birthday! Now, in addition to his ever-present quest to win the heart of his childhood friend Risa, Daisuke must commit acts of thievery (with his doppelganger Dark controlling his body), to steal mysterious pieces of art for unknown purposes. For Daisuke, his growing pains are just beginning!
Both Pretear and DNAngel would interest those who enjoy a good fantasy anime that is short, sweet, and to the point. If you enjoy good looking men (such as the mysterious phantom thief Dark and the leaf knight with a tragic past known as Hyate), and made up historical elements, these are a good fit. Both anime have good character designs, good character development, beautiful art, and exhilarating stories.
Fairytales? Check. Bishounen? Check. A mix of comedy and angst? Check. Both of these anime are entertaining shoujo fantasies with lots of romance, drama and high school comedy. While I feel that both could have better character development (particularly Pretear, which tries to focus on 9 different main characters in 14 episodes) both are very entertaining series with a lot of heart to them. Perfect for the girly girl inside of you!
Both Pretear and D.N Angel are about love being able to conquer and overcome all else. The characterization in each series is reminiscent of each other, especially in regards to some hot looking male figures! In each series mysterious events unfold that change a normal persons life into something absolutely extraordinary and overtake them in a world filled with fantasy.
Both are animes about discovering first love, and how to deal with those feelings. The main characters discover they have a hidden power they can use to better their world, but it comes at a cost to their personal lives. Both are about the power of light and dark and the human heart (and both are fittingly sappy to match).
Both are short anime with lot of magic in it. The style is similair. And when you finished the anime wish that there were more epidodes. When you start with the anime you won't stop watchin untilyou have seen them all. Both storylines are great. You should have seen both anime.
Sakura Kinomoto never imagined that by opening a book in her father's library, she'd be responsible for releasing wild magic into the world, yet that's exactly what she did. Too powerful to be let loose on the world, the magical Clow cards were sealed away long ago by their creator, Clow Reed. But all is not lost, for the guardian beast, Keroberos, was sealed along with the cards! Can Sakura, with the help of Keroberos, retrieve the cards before they wreak havoc on the town?
Both series have a stong magical girl influence and you will like one if you lik the other. Pretear does have mor emature jokes and plays in a fantasy world. In addition to that it has somewhat more handsome guys compared to Card Captor Sakura. SO i fyou liked Card Captor Sakura, but are looking for a more mature magical girl anime in a fantasy world, go for Card Captor Sakura. If you liked Pretear and are looking for something more in the real world and somewaht less mature and with character with an average age of 10, go for Card Captor Sakura.
Both are filled with transformations and of course it is all about an unsuspecting girl who suddenly has to save the world and both fall in love with the guy/boy who is fighting with her.
Only pretear is a little more mature than cardcaptor Sakura. I think they are a lot a like.
Both series have the whole mahou shoujo theme going for them, and they both involve a young girl who suddenly finds herself using her powers to save the world from some kind of evil. Both are similar enough in their feel in that if you enjoy one, you'll probably enjoy the other as well.
Both anime are about girls who find out by acicent that they have magical powers. They have both hansome perons who cares about them. And that gives funny moments. Cardcaptor sakura is a long anime and has 2 movies. And pretear is a short one. If you liked one of them you will like the other.
