Synopsis:

Meet Popee and Kedamono, two very abnormal circus performers that live a very eventful life. Whether they're performing dangerous stunts, dodging alien abductions or being taken over by a body-possessing frog, there's never a dull moment at the circus. Alongside the flamboyant Papi and a special elephant car, Kedamono and Popee will traverse an endless desert in search for an oasis, stab each other with knives for target practice and even blow each other up with bombs – but for poor Kedamono, surviving Popee's homicidal spurts will be difficult to say the least...

Ga-Ra-Ku-Ta: Mr. Stain on Junk Alley

Ga-Ra-Ku-Ta: Mr. Stain on Junk Alley
  • TV (14 eps x 7 min)
  • 2003

Stain spends his life rifling through the rubbish in Junk Alley hoping to find something good – and preferably edible. Alongside Palvan, his equally hungry feline friend, Stain makes the most of the oddities he discovers amongst the trash. Surrounded by bizarre neighbours such as a masked monkey and crabs who live in traffic cones, and a multitude of treasures waiting to be found, there’s never a dull day for the hapless Stain. From desperately trying to pry open a refrigerator and attempting to eat one of their lizard friends to magic crayons that make whatever you draw materialize in front of you, it seems anything is possible for Stain and Palvan – well, apart from finding a decent, guilt-free meal!

Like watching anime with sociopathic characters and their deranged antics? Then both of these series are for you. Both employ the use of excessive comedy violence and downright bizarre plot twists.

Humanity Has Declined

Humanity Has Declined

Humanity has declined over time, leading to shortages in goods and the beginning of a bizarre relationship between humans and whimsical, sweets-loving fairies. Certain mediators help bridge the gap between the two species, as the magical, surprisingly-technological fairies are known to create various items the townsfolk need, albeit at oft-questionable quality levels. One such mediator, along with her faithful silent assistant, adorable fairy Nakata and frenemies such as yaoi-loving Y, will navigate her eventful daily life, whether it's investigating a strange factory or trying to escape the pages of a comic book.

Weird and wild comedy in outlandish settings. Humanity Has Declined is significantly more subtle than Popee but I feel that they both appeal to a similar sense of humour.

Thrawn

Not only are they both in the so-bad-it's-good category but they feature adequate enough animation to delightfully portray an overdose of violence and blood (Sometimes in Popee) in a horrid torrent of malicious intentions. Neither don't have much going for them but they do feature memorable characters, as sadistic, twisted monstrosities they may be.

Popee is way more 'lighthearted' and slightly less confusing, but both are completely bizarre, weird titles that will likely make you laugh due to how crazy they are.

Usavich

Usavich

Kirenenko and Putin are two rabbits living out their lives in a Russian prison. However, their days are anything but monotonous! From struggling to eat their still-alive dinner to trying to take a shower, to dealing with a croaking frog and even having visitors, the two have a variety of misadventures in their tiny cell. Both anime uses CGI, slapstic comedy and black humour, few characters with music instad of voices and have short episodes. Usavich episodes are shorter and uses less graphic violence (more cartoonish), while Popee episodes are longer and include more sketches (and more blood)...
