Pokemon: Pikachu's Island Adventure
Synopsis:
The summer has arrived, and Pikachu and friends are on their way to an island paradise for some fun in the sun; but when a disoriented Whynaut stumbles on the shore, the gang know that something is terribly wrong. Meowth and his cohorts have commandeered the island’s playground, and they have a powerful Hariyama and Exploud at their command to make sure no one stands in their way! Now, Pikachu, Pichu, Squirtle and the rest must join forces to kick the villainous invaders off of their island so the real fun can begin!

Black Jack has forgotten his medical kit; and it's up to his mysterious assistant, Pinoko, to return it to him. Unfortunately, though, Pinoko has gotten lost in a strange forest and many animals require her assistance! Becoming a makeshift doctor, Pinoko mends the wounds of deer, bears and other forest creatures - but she soon must face her most challenging and frightening healing experience yet! Can Pinoko save the day both in the forest, and for Black Jack?

add recBefore now, I had no anime in mind to recommend for the Pokemon shorts; have no fear, Dr Pinoko's Adventure is here! With a similar cast of cute animal characters, DPA is another super sweet and adorable look at nature's creatures. Of course, Pokemon is far more fictitious, but both anime have a similar target audience, mood and feel.
Both are short movies that are shown before a main anime movie that involve the cute mascot character of the anime in some cute litle fantasy world filled with cute animals/Pokemon.
Also, both have no relavence to the main plot whatsoever and complelty contradict the anime from which's it based on and thus must take place in a alternate world.
