A young man awakens in an abandoned warehouse with no memory of his past. As he leaves the room and ventures further into the warehouse he is attacked by a girl in a mask; she tells him that in order to live he must come at her with all his might. After a fight for his life, he manages to overpower the girl, learning that he is to be trained as a Phantom - an assassin for the Inferno organization. He is also given a new name: Zwei. For three months, Zwei is trained by the girl in the arts of assassination until he has just one final test: to kill a living human being.
Mireille Bouqet has become a reputable assassin working in France. However, all changes after she meets Kirika, a mysterious young girl who knows nothing about her past but possesses killing skills that dwarf hers. Further intrigue unfolds as both characters explore their shadowy past and come to a head with a clandestine organization that seeks to control destiny itself.
A lot of similar concepts in both Noir and Phantom, both deal with high profile assassins within the mafia run underworld. Both contain assassins who have issues with memory loss, retaining only enough knowledge to know how to kill effectively. A theme of the hunters becoming the hunted arises within both partway through their respective series.
Obviously, same studio, similar plot. A duo of assassins able to dodge bullets of hundreds of bodygards. A girl whose past has been erased trained as a killer. And the slow unveiling of a greater mystery.
Both are stories following the journey of two troubled elite assassins as they unravel a vast scheme of a shadow organization. There are similar character archetypes for the protagonists. Phantom is the Noir for a new generation.
It has been a year since Rock joined the crew of the Black Lagoon, and while becoming accustomed to life in Roanapur, he also gets involved in many dangerous circles. With the level of violence increasing by the day, Hotel Moscow takes advantage of Rock's talents, and he soon finds himself intimately involved in their struggle for power. A series of events eventually lead Rock back to Japan as a translator for Balalaika, where he soon finds himself confronted with the choice of returning to his old life or continuing with the new. While questioning where his morals lie, Rock must decide, once and for all, whether or not to call the Black Lagoon home.
While black lagoon is far more upbeat and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ is much darker, the two series have a lot of common. The both feature similar action sequences, but maybe more importantly is they both feature great character interaction.
Gunplay, assassins, and a lot of action. Both are a lot of fun to watch but lagoon is the better overall. Both will help your gunplay fix tho
Follow interstellar bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black as they scour the galaxy for criminals with prices on their heads. Hoping to escape their past, they live on the spaceship Bebop, but it's a dangerous business and old enemies don't forget easily. Allies come from unlikely sources, however, as they find comrades in the beautiful swindler Faye Valentine, the genius child hacker Ed and the genetically engineered 'data dog' Ein. Will they be able to help each other though their respective struggles, or is their fate really inevitable?
While Bebop has some very light and comedic episodes, I think the series episodes of Bebop and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ have very similar feelings. Both feature superb animation and sound, but what is really similar is the intense gun fights.
Cowboy Bebop and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ have the same type of fighting survival feeling to them. The characters are well developed and the team moves forward together doing what they can to help each other stay alive. Both series have amazing animation and a great story line with hints of tragedy along the way.
Henrietta is a young girl who works for a "welfare group" that does the government's dirty work. Cybernetically-enhanced and specially-trained, she is one of a group of elite hit-girls, remorseless killers with no memories of their past. Jose, her partner, has taken care of her since she was brought into the organization following the murder of her family, and struggles between his affection for her, and his opposing duty to his employer. But, time is running out.. for with each bullet they fire, Henrietta and the other girls lose a little more of their humanity.
Both shows have the main character being a girl who is an assassin and a guy character who assists them. The girls are controled by other in both shows. In gun slinger girl the girls work for the government while in Phantom they work for a criminal organization.
Both have to do with young people being put in situations where they are forced to kill. In Phantom they do it to survive in the underworld whereas Gunslinger Girl they work for the government taking out the mafia and other groups. Phantom is much darker in tone but both deal with the people involved in the killing and their thoughts on what they are doing.
With a past shrouded in mystery and a blank memory, Shiki Tohno seems to be just another "average high school student". That is, until he nearly kills a female vampire with his secret deadly ability to "see the lines". His journey to unlock the secrets of the Tohno family and unbury his own lost memories has only just begun, and now he must also help the woman, Arcueid Brunestud, find a lethal phantom named Roa, and kill it using his ability.
Both start out in a very similar manner with an average high school student boy meeting an assassin girl, somehow completely kicking the assassin girl's ass, and then being coerced into helping the girl even though he claims he's just an average student. Both also have alot of drama broken up by short bursts of violence. The protagonist of both shows have amnesia and also get into a mild romance with the main heroine centering around the protagonist's desire for her to live a normal life.
As assassinations take place the male protagonist in both Phantom –Requiem for the Phantom- and Lunar Legend Tsukihime get pulled into the extreme world of the beautiful girls who can be deadly beyond belief.
