While black lagoon is far more upbeat and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ is much darker, the two series have a lot of common. The both feature similar action sequences, but maybe more importantly is they both feature great character interaction.
Gunplay, assassins, and a lot of action. Both are a lot of fun to watch but lagoon is the better overall. Both will help your gunplay fix tho

If you like Btooom! you will probably like Requiem for the Phantom (and vice versa) as they both have unfair elements that force the main character to fight in order to survive. However, Requiem for the Phantom is much darker and extreme.
Both are very dark with a romance sub plot. Lots of death and emotions. Very similar feel.

Both shows are about assassins but Kite Liberator goes the sci-fi route instead of realistic.

Both shows have the main character being a girl who is an assassin and a guy character who assists them. The girls are controled by other in both shows. In gun slinger girl the girls work for the government while in Phantom they work for a criminal organization.

Both animes have to do with assassins. The girls in both are very good killers. In both animes the girls team up with other people.

The heroines in Canaan and Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ are both girls that can kick some serious ass! The animation and fighting scenes in each are fantastic. While Canaan is more fantasy based, the two series are really similar in feel.

Both shows have a video game version. While Angel Beats! started as a game, the Phantom anime is an adaptation of the Phantom game. Also both shows have action and moé girls. If you like one you should watch the other.

I enjoyed both shows a huge amount. They may not have very similar plot lines, but they both are very emotional and well thought out and developed stories. If you liked one, there is a very good change you will like the other.
