Get Backers and Yougen Kaisha both deal with good people who can't seem to get out of debt! Oh, each set of characters also manages an interesting business. For the Get Backers, it's stolen items.. any item. For the team of Yougen Kaisha, it's dealing with spooks, ghosts, and demons! Add a dose of humor to the mix and you have two great series. Get Backers is considerably longer, and has more of a running plot.. while Yougen Kaisha is just cheesy, hilarious fun.

Paying back debts is the main goal. If it's finding something you lost with the Get Backers or vanquishing evil spirits with Phantom Quest Corp give these 2 a try. If you liked one you'll like the other.

Pet Shop of Horrors

Pet Shop of Horrors main image

At Count D's pet shop, you can acquire any form of animal, from an ordinary canary, to more.. "exotic" creatures. Made to sign a contract before purchase, Count D claims no "responsibility for actions incurred" if the purchaser does not follow its instructions completely, as results can be fatal. Patrons of this shop are able to get the rarest of creatures, but often, their purchases are coupled with demons from their past that won't go away easily.

While Pet Shop of Horrors is considerably more dark and depressing, both it and Yougen Kaisha deal with the paranormal/undead, in conjunction with normal, everyday citizens. Also, each of these series has a very episodic feel, with no central plot going from one to the other. I really enjoyed both of these, and think they have a very similar feel. Try it out!

Not sure exactly what it is, but the animation and the episodic plot make both of these fairly similar. The general feel of each one is also the same. Although one has a detective who is investigating the paranormal and one series has a detective investigating strange animal caused deaths.

Zombie-Loan

Michiru has an unusual ability: she can see a dark ring around a person's neck that signifies their time to die. However, she suppressed her powers once she "saw" the deaths of her parents – until now. After accidentally seeing rings around the necks of two boys in her school, it seems that Michiru's powers are back for good. The two are zombies who are working for the secret loan office known as Zombie-Loan, and they need Michiru's help to find other zombies – those with dark black rings around their necks. Though Michiru initially refuses, due to a series of events it seems she has no choice but to comply...

MalteseFalcon

A group of people fighting against the forces of darkness for cash.... this formula serves as the basis for both Zombie-Loan and Phantom Quest Corp. While Zombie-Loan is a bit more serious than Phantom Quest Corp, both are amusing in their own ways. If you enjoyed one, you should try out the other.

Both are about a group of people that hunt down evil spirits to pay back their loans. Zombie Loan is more serious that Phantom Quest Corp but both have good laughs. If you liked one you'll like the other.

Haruto Hojo is the son of a priest, which might sound normal. However, his school is the ground zero gathering point for everything ghost, spirit, and likewise, thanks to the obsessed (and also a ghost) headmaster of the school! In order to make sure everything runs normally, Hojo (who just wants to live a normal life), along with Mutsuki (prodigal Japanese priestess), and Kazumi (a frequently possessed monk), complete tasks that only seem to make the school more strange and hectic!

The strange slapstick humor in both Haunted Junction and Yougen Kaisha is fairly similar. There are a lot of random ghosts and such and the theme is fairly similar. Neither series is very serious, but both are entertaining and if you liked one, you'd definately like the other.

Both Ragnarok and Phanton Quest Corp have a business that investigates the paranormal, and each episodes revolves around that idea. If you liked that aspect in one, you'd like it in the other. Also, in both series are strange crazy monsters and demons and such, some are less likely than others to be "really evil", so it's fun all around.
