Synopsis:

Momo is loud, shallow, a player, a betrayer, and one to best stay away from -- or at least, that's the misconception people have when they see her makeup, bleached hair and suntanned skin. In reality, Momo just wants the same friends, hobbies and crushes any girl her age would like. However, when her only friend starts spreading rumours about her, her boyfriend starts to doubt her, and the most popular boy in school starts to take a more then friendly interest in her, she'll have much more to worry about than just her appearance!

Strawberry Panic

Strawberry Panic

On Astraea Hill stand 3 prestigious female-only academies known as St. Miatre, Spica, and LeRim; and though the schools are separate, they share a single campus and dormitory. Nagisa Aoi is a 10th grader who has decided to transfer to St. Miatre's Girls' Academy. Though her transition has been smooth so far, while exploring the campus Aoi inadvertently falls down a hill, sees the beautiful Shimuza, and promptly (not to mention embarrassingly) faints. Nagisa continues to see Shimuza out and about, but soon discovers that she is the "Etoile" -- a well respected girl within all of the schools. With Shizuma taking a liking to the new transfer student Nagisa, secrets of Shizuma's past will unravel over the coming school year.

In both Strawberry Panic and Peach Girl, the main heroine is sought after by multiple characters, and she can't decide who to choose. Both series also revolve around high school drama. Even though Strawberry Panic is a girl/girl series Peach Girl has all of the components that make the high school drama a reality in Strawberry Panic. I think the two series are very complementary of one another.

Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran

Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran

Kotobuki Ran has a whole family line of relatives working in the police force. Her aunts and uncles are officers, her dad is a police chief, and even her brother is a working policeman. Ran has no interest in being a policewoman; she has problems of her own, and her own style of dealing with them - the GAL way! Friends need boyfriends, shoes need to be bought, and nails need to be done. Despite Ran's wreckless and troublesome behavior, Ran has a strong sense of justice, and she's always willing to help her friends out of trouble. With her two best friends Miyu and Aya, they live life as GALs, building romance and creating memorable fun!

Both animes feature girls with tan skin and spunky attitudes. Both feature down to earth plots about social perceptions and overcomming whats considered "popular". However Super Gals is a little more light hearted and happy. It kind of feels like a mash up of Peach Girls, Sailor Moon, and Totally Spies. Peach Girls is a lot more in depth and serious and takes the romance further than Super Gals.
