Both are shounen-ai in which main characters live under the same roof being a "family". There is also the age-gap issue which influences the way our heroes feel. The semes are kind and overprotective, but at the same time slightly distant, while ukes are comming to terms with their interest in the older man and seem to take things more seriuosly.

I cannot believe I am recommending these two, but they are so similar, I really have to make the recommendation. Both are shounen-ai, both have a relationship between an older male and his dependant. Both have a rather socially awkward younger partner.

The main difference is that Papa to Kiss is set after the relationship is established, whereas Super Lovers is set during the start of the relationship. So, if you felt either aspect was missing from one of the anime, you'll find it in the other.

If fluttery shounen-ai romance is your thing, Song of Wind and Trees and Papa to Kiss in the Dark are for you. I didn't care much for either, but think this is a good recommendation pair regardless. Papa definitely tries to be a comedy, while Song has a fairly serious tone.

This is really a rec for all the Zetsuai parts, not just the first one. Papa to and Zetsuai are both rather angst-filled, and deal with love that should not be. Oh, and both are yaoi.

Nocturnalgloria Nocturnalgloria says...

Shounen-ai with incest undertones is at the heart of these series. Angel's Feather and Papa to Kiss in the Dark differ considerably in terms of plot, as AF's deals with supernatural confrontations while Papa is almost pure yaoi for the sake of being so. Yet the shounen-ai content and incest (made extremely obvious and almost graphic in Papa, more subdued in AF) draw these two titles together.

He’s watched his sister Iku grow up and become a beautiful woman, and now, he can no longer contain his feelings – Yori confesses. Sangokagome Sangokagome says...

When you take the forbidden romance of Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru, the comedy and the beautiful colors incorperated in the OVA, and replace the main couple with father and son, you get Papa to Kiss in the Dark. If incest is your thing, along with an adorable love story, then you'll love sinking your teeth into either of these great OVAs.
