Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...
It’s never easy being a transfer student, especially when transferring in the middle of the year. Certain schools have their own traditions and ways of doing things – something Kouno Tooru discovers when the student council of the Fujimori high school insists that he dress like a girl! Along with two other boys chosen for their remarkable beauty, Kouno is given the task of brightening up the dull days of an all-boys high school. The rewards offered by the student council are great, but the life of a “Princess” turns out to be more work than Kouno had bargained for...
If you liked Ouran, you'd like Princess Princess because it's also a cute show set in a high school. It's about the trials that three students go through together, and like Ouran, it also features cross-dressing students at an all-boys school. It's a funny show, and I loved it.
While Princess Princess has guys dressing up as girls, Ouran High School Host Club has a girl dressing up as a guy. Both have the same type of humor, and both have lively characters. If one makes you laugh then so will the other.
both these animes are high-school life with a twist, where ouran high school host club is a wealthy school offering services for the females of the school, where haruhi gets sucked into crossdressing to pay off a debt, Princess Princess is about three crossdressing straight male students who get bribed with school privalages if they cheer on the male students because there are no girls around. Both animes are hilarious and i thought very much alike.
If you like your shojo with a little cross-dressing, Princess Princess is for you! Like Ouran High School Host Club, The humor is alike in many ways. Also the characters in Princess Princess are paid to play the role of the other gender, almost exactly like Haruhi. You'll laugh until your stomach hurts.
Both of these shows have very lively characters with each a unique personality. There's also some crossdressing involved! A girl as a guy in Ouran High School and boys as girls in Princess Princess.
They are both very funny and have good character development. :D Right after watching Ouran I watched Princess Princess and was amazed at the similar comedy styles.
If high school really were like this... at least things would have been a bit more interesting eh?
The schools depicted in these two shows play a major role in the plot. Or at least the 'unique' programs they each have do. If you found the craziness of one of these to be hilarious then the other will have you in stitches as well.
Rino is an orphan whose only memento of her mother is a taking puppet named Puuchan. After a generous donation from a mysterious benefactor, Rino finds herself enrolled in the prestigious all-girls high school known as Miyagami; and thus her adventure begins! With Rino’s naïve nature and Puuchan’s sadistic streak, the duo quickly takes the school by storm. From the ranks of the seemingly all-powerful Best Student Council, Rino and Puuchan change the lives of everyone they meet, like it or not!
Ouran is the highly humorous tale of students at a very unusual school that somehow all end up in the same club. Best Student Council could also be described in that exact fashion at first glance. And yet the plots of these two shows are remarkably dissimilar. In fact, it might seem like these two series aren't comparable, but despite the truly fundamental differences between the two main leads there is a shared mix of humor and seriousness. If you examine these two series you will find that they are both the same and not the same at all, but regardless of that confusion you'll find that you enjoy Best Student Council if you rather enjoyed Ouran High School Host Club.
In both Ouran High School Host Club, and Gokujo Seitokai, we see the quintessential tale of the poor girl who gets taken in by a group of "higher class" schoolmates only to have her outshine them all with her natural inner beauty. and of course this is all made possible through a series of absurd events that have little or nothing to do with the actual school in attendance.
Oh yes! If you like any one of these animes you have to watch the other. Both animes are so comical you would laugh when you watch them. Schools with councils, clubs almost the same, unity between friends overcoming daily obstacles thats what these both animes are about and dont forget to laugh!
They're both comedies that take place in a school setting, though the focus is on extracurricular activities, not academic endeavours. The protagonist in both series is a poor girl who gets dragged into a group (host club and student council, respetively) with enourmous amounts of infiuence, funds and opportunities for comedic escapades. Loads of varied characters are to be found in either one as well. If you liked either one you should consider watching the other series.
Ouran High School Host Club and Best Student council fit each other perfectly. Each series revolve around the poor female protagonist getting thrown into an upper end school setting. They precede to each join a club/council as the series progress through the humor events that befall them.
When Hayate was young, Santa appeared in a dream and told him that if he worked hard, he’d be rewarded. Thus, with an unbreakable will, the unfortunate Hayate has struggled through life holding onto that belief. In the present, his parents are lazy and unemployed, forcing Hayate to work several jobs to pay the bills. As if things couldn’t get worse, Hayate’s parents then run away, leaving him with an enormous debt and loan sharks on his tail! Naturally, the best solution to find money fast is… to kidnap someone?! A girl named Nagi is the target, but due to an unfortunate miscommunication, she believes Hayate has proposed to her and falls for him hard. After Nagi paid off his debt, Hayate must now work as her butler in order to repay her; but first, he must adapt to her wacky world!
Both are very funny and random in places with a romance theme although in diffrent ways, and both are light hearted comdies.
What do these two have in common? 1. Class 2. Comedy. Going from the indvidual personalities you get to know in Ouran High School Host Club and then going to a even more rediculous, even more funny situation [which both just so happen to kick off because of the main character being over their head with debt] this hilarious, and still ongoing Anime will have you in stiches as much as Ouran High School Host Club did!
If you like Host Club, you will love Hayate! Both start because of a huge debt, and so much random things go on. it's insane!
Both of these anime are episodic with great humor. Also, each of these series are centered around a middle class or poor individual forced to be with extremely rich people due to a large debt, leading to humor based on the rich people's lack of a "normal" life experience. Finally, both of these series' lead characters are often seen cross dressing, occasionally leading to misunderstandings.
Both are very silly anime that use slapstick comedy. They also play on the fact that the main characters come from poor backgrounds and have to associate with wealthy individuals.
There’s no denying that Mizuho is beautiful. Normally that might be a bit of a disadvantage seeing as he is an average sort of boy who enjoys sports and games. However, his beloved grandfather has just passed away, and the will includes a strange request; his grandfather wants him to become closer to his mother's memory by attending the same all-girls academy she did for a semester. Obviously he can't hide his gender from the teachers of the school; so he will need their approval, but he also can't expose his gender in front of his fellow students. With the help of his child-hood friend Mariya, his own natural beauty, and just a little bit of luck, Mariya may just be able to fool his fellow students! Considering the turn of events, there may be more to his grandfather's dying request than meets the eye...
Ouran High School is Otome wa, but totally opposite. Instead of being about a boy crossdressing as a cute girl and his cute girl-friends, it is about a girl crossdressing as a boy and her cute boy-friends.
Both are somewhat fanservice-y with a lot of humor and a somber foundation.
Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru is about a new student who is pretending to be a girl, while Ouran High School Host Club is about a new student who pretends to be a boy. Both anime deal with keeping their identities a secret, and both will make you laugh. They are very similar, in an opposite way. :)
Disregarding the obvious crossdressing point, both Ouran and Otome are series that seem like generic harem comedy fare but are in fact quite different. While they do have their comedy aspects, these shows take a serious look at each of their characters and the main lead's efforts to help them through their troubles. They also limit the romantic interests to one or two, as opposed to the full swarm one might expect. And, as might be expected, they both revolve around themes regarding the insignificance of gender roles and stereotypes. Despite the fact that each is clearly aimed at one gender, they aren't really inaccessible to the other. If you found one of these enjoyable, the other may very well be worth a look.
Both Ouran High School Host Club and Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru are about a person who acts like the opposite gender and enjoys an exciting life at school with their many friends. In almost every episode of these two series there is some sort of twist. Not only are these two series interesting and cute but they are also hilarious. If you're looking for a laugh then check these out!
Both series are hillarious, but sweet in their own way. They're both about cross dressing too ^_^. Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru (try saying that 5 times fast) is about a boy who dresses like a girl to go to an all girl's school. Ouran High Host Club is about a girl going to a rich kid school and when she breaks an expensive vase she has to dress like a guy and work in the host club to pay for it. Both have funny moments but every now and then put in something sad or something sweet/cute. Both series are funny, cute, and adorable and if you enjoyed one, then you'll probably enjoy the other.
Tenma Tsukamoto is young, bright, and smitten with the school hottie Oji Karasuma. She's desperate for his attention, which is unfortunate considering he barely gives her the time of day! Throw Kenji Harima, the school delinquent with a crush on Tenma into the mix and you've got one twisted love triangle of unrequited proportions! Can love find the trio happiness before their attention-grabbing stunts end up hurting more than their egos?
Both anime have female protagonists in similar 'school' settings. Ouran and School Rumble are full of humour. School Rumble features simple plots and tones of puns and sarcastic notes.
Overall, Ouran and School Rumble will go well together
If you liked watching Ouran High School, and like comedy/school life anime, you might also like School Rumble. The episode style is similar, with a different story for each episode. Also the animation is so good in both anime. School Rumble will be the best selection to watch next, I think.
Ouran High School Host Club and School Rumble share a high school setting. Both are comedies with romance with thrown into the mix. If you like one you shouldn't pass up an opportunity to watch the other.
These two just complement each other. The classic school parody along with the comedic relief is key two both School Rumble and Ouran Highschool Host Club. Even though I preferred Ouran more, I still enjoyed very much the anime :)
