Ouran High is a school for the extremely wealthy or, in Haruhi's case, the extremely talented. But no amount of talent will help when Haruhi accidentally drops an eight million yen vase in a music room. The vase was the property of Ouran High School Host Club, a group of attractive young men who, for a fee, provide their time and affections for their lovesick clientele: the female students. Fascinated by this strange new specimen, a poor and clumsy commoner, they force Haruhi to work for them until the debt is repaid; but they get a lot more than they bargained for...
Life is simply not worth living for down and out school teacher Itoshiki Nozomu. He has no hope of progress, no prospect of promotion, no chance at happiness… he is in despair! Even his name spells 'zetsubou' – 'despair', when compressed. But when the time comes to end it all, Itoshiki's attempted suicide on the first day of the new school year is foiled by relentlessly positive Fuura Kafuka. This saves Itoshiki long enough to meet his new class, and the quirky range of students under his care. Will Itoshiki Nozomu depress his students with his anguish? Or will Fuura show Zetsubou-sensei the joys of life and hope?
I am a shojo girl, that's the truth; however Ouran High School Host Club isn't just a typical shojo. No. People who say that OHSHC is just a show that feeds the imagination of all kind of crazy girls out there, is wrong. Beyond its complicated, and far away from drama, love triangle there is a large proportion of the series that it's extremely hilarious, in adventures and exciting way; which is just appealing to boys. The specter is just waiting anxiously, for the next joke to hit him/her. It's joke after joke. Of course it falls in some predictable course, though it still has and never loses its capability to generate surprises or laughter. This quality is also found in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, an anime that share the same scenario (high school), characters with similar traits ( Itoshiki sensei, when only his face appears with a black background, and Tamaki and his antisocial posture with a black background, as well. ), and there comical way of doing and saying things. Taking into consideration this strong points that they share I declare that if you enjoy watching Ouran High School Host Club you would definitely like Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei or vice versa, because when it comes to laughter this two anime pull the very best.

Ouran High School Host Club and Seitokai no Ichizon both take place in a club rooms where there is a harem theme to it. If you like funny animes with touching stories of friendship then you will surely like either one of these.
Wakame High School has its fair share of weirdos, and transfer student Fumiya "Fuumin" Okometsubu is about to meet the strangest one of all. Planning to make one hundred new friends, the first to step up to the plate is Masaru Hananakajima. Becoming an unwilling student in Masaru's secret martial arts style, the two embark on enrolling more unsuspecting victims to learn the "Sexy Commando" way of fighting. Recruiting Kyasharin, the feeblest strong man in the world; and Kondo, the aspiring manly man; the group embark on a voyage of moronic triviality. From an outrageous sleepover to playing the baseball Game of Honour, the team must finally pull together and remove their pants for the National Sexy Commando Tournament!
While they don't really share the same comical topics, they express the comedy in very similiar ways. They both use immediate, ridiculous and extreme ways to display their "feelings". Especially Tamaki and Masaru. Fuumin and Haruhi are also similiar since they are both "ordinary" people surrounded by weirdos
Meet Lina Inverse, a mighty sorceress who fights evil in the name of... greed, gluttony and black magic?! When she meets Gourry, a swordsman whose skill with the blade is rivaled only by his stupidity, Zelgadis, a grumpy sorceror who's been turned into a golem, and Rezo, a priest known for his benevolence (with a dark secret), you know her adventures are just beginning!
Although these two shows are part of different genres, they both have a solid cast of characters and spend a lot of time actually parodying the genres they're a part of. They take themselves juuust enough seriously to make you care about the characters and plots, but they're never above cracking a joke or poking at the fourth wall to show how silly their genres can be at times. If you enjoy comedy and fun characters, there's a good chance you'll enjoy these shows.
