CLAMP School is not just a school - it's a self-contained city. Housing 10,000 students from Kindergarten to Graduate level, it facilitates education for anyone talented, regardless of wealth. At the elementary level, three students lead the student council: Nokoru, the youngest son of the company that built the school; Suoh Takamura, the cool-headed secretary; and Akira, both a talented cook and the council's treasurer. Well-liked and resourceful, the trio is able to help the fairest of damsels with ease. And thus, after saving a sad old woman, Nokoru decides to create the CLAMP School Detective Agency; their goal, to help out any maiden in distress!
Clamp School Detectives is sort of like what Ouran High School Host Club would be if the entirety of the Host Club was filled with 10 year old boys ... who happen to be extremely gentlemanly and super adorable.
Ouran HSHC is much more tongue-in-cheek than Clamp School Detectives, with its episodes focusing mainly on character development and comedic situations. On the other hand, Clamp School Detectives follows a much more episodic format, focusing mainly on solving the problems of (oftentimes older) women. Clamp School Detectives also features many tie-ins with other Clamp characters.
Either way, if you want another show with male characters in a club whose sole purpose is to please and solve the problems of women, I recommend either Ouran HSHC or Clamp School Detectives.
When Demon King Satan was facing his demise at the hands of Hero Emilia, he had no choice but to quickly flee to another world with his Demon General, Alsiel. To survive, the Demon King must now work a part-time job at a fast-food joint and attempt to adapt to modern society the best the pair can as Japanese citizens, all while scheming to rule over the country in the process. But with Hero Emilia and others on Satan’s tail to slay him for good, will Japan ever become his new domain?
It's the first day of high school, and plenty of school clubs are doing their best to recruit new members. However, for ditzy Yui, none of them seem to fit the bill. However, when she accidentally signs up to join the light music club, Yui begins a hilarious adventure to become a world class guitarist! There's just one problem: she's never played the guitar before in her life! Joined by bassist Mio, drummer Ritsu and keyboardist Tsugumi, Yui and the gang will juggle their studies with buying instruments, learning how to read music and even performing in the school festival, all in the hopes of someday becoming a successful band!
Both OHSHC and K-On! are lighthearted series featuring high school clubs, and they both have plenty of comedic moments.
The characters are lovable in both series, and although there are differences between them (more of a romance element in Ouran than K-On!, different main character sexes), but they both have themes of friendship and school life.. and they're both super cute! ^.^
When Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa and Rin were in elementary school, they swam together in a relay race and won the match. As Rin was on his way to Australia to train to become an Olympic champion, the gang decided to bury their trophy in a time capsule and retrieve it when they all had grown up. Now, Haruka, Makoto and Nagisa have reunited in high school and decide to dig up the prize. But on the way there, they run into none other than Rin, and he's determined to show Haru who's the best! As a result of this fateful meeting, the three friends decide to start a swim club, along with fellow classmate Rei, and their rival's little sister Gou as the team manager. Can the gang hold their own against Rin and prove their skills at the Prefectural Tournament?
This isn't a recommendation based on plot, but more on the feel of these shows. Both of these shows are clearly aimed at women, and feature a group of guys with intense relationships with each other.
Ouran is obviously more romantic, since it's a reverse harem (there's a female lead character in Free!, but she only serves as a manager and friend to the guys), but putting aside the romance aspects of Ouran and the main sports plot in Free! they're definitely similar in tone. Both have elements of comedy and drama, spend a lot of time on character development, and end on a dramatic, feel-good tone.
Since the audiences for both of these shows are so similar, I think that fans of one would definitely like the other.
Mai Taniyama is a first year high school student who lives a carefree life telling ghost stories with her friends. One day, she meets Kazuya Shibuya, the head of Shibuya Psychic Research (SPR); and together, she tags along to help him investigate paranormal activities in a haunted school building. His assistant Lin was hurt during an incident to protect Mai from danger, so what more can Mai do than to take the job as Shibuya's assistant? Along with a team of other ghost hunters, they will uncover the mystery of a strange case coming their way, while Mai starts to discover her own abilities.
Ouran High School Host Club and Ghost Hunt. They both have high school girls who hate Tamaki(OHSHC) or Naru (GH) because they are annoying, narcissits, and plain mean :P. But later on they understand why.
They both are lovey dovey anime with a lot of silly comedy and somewhat horror/scary
