Long ago the infamous Gol D. Roger was the strongest and most powerful pirate on the seas. As he was about to be executed he revealed that he hid all of his wealth, including the legendary treasure known as One Piece, on an island at the end of the Grand Line - a treacherous and truly unpredictable sea. Monkey D. Luffy is a spirited, energetic and somewhat dim-witted young man with a very big dream: to find One Piece and become the Pirate King! However Luffy is no ordinary boy, as when he was younger he ate one of the Devil's Fruits and gained its power to become a Rubber Man. Now in this grand age of pirates Luffy sets out to gather a crew and sail to the most dangerous sea in the world so that he can fulfill his dream... and maybe even his appetite!
Middle school student Tsuna has always gone through life in last place; but when he learns that he is getting a tutor to help him raise his game, he had no idea that his benefactor would turn out to be... an infant and a mafia hitman?! Joined by friends Tsuna unwillingly starts out on his path to becoming a mafia boss – if he can survive the training!
One Piece is an anime that's about friendship and friends you need to protect. In One Piece there is an captain that has to protect them all and in Hitman Reborn it is the new Vongola Boss, Tsuna, who needs to protect them from time to time, and of course, sometimes the other way around. That's what's so simular between these animes and that's why you'll love Hitman Reborn.
Every time I watch both series I feel a kind of strong similrity between them: the ones need to protect, the strong relation between the main characters, the wonderful comedy, the great action, and the main point is that One Piece is giving its unique view of pirates, and so do Hitman Reborn with the Mafia. If you enjoyed one of them, be sure to watch the other!
It's a great adventure anime, I really enjoyed both and liked both :). I hope you will too! They both evolve around a GROUP of characters, and not only one main character who gets stronger etc. They ALL get stronger. They both have comedy in, which is always good for an anime :)
Enjoy them both :D
Hitman Reborn and One Piece both share the same type of Main Character and Comedy. They both want to help protect the precious things they care about while focusing on their future goals, (Luffy wants to be Pirate King while Tsuna wants to become a great boss). Both characters are alike because of attitude of not giving up and trying their best.
Both anime have a great huge cast of good and bad guys that you'll grow to love. The way that the bond of a friendship is told in each anime is very similar. Lots of action, sillyness, and great plots are found within each arc of each show. If you enjoy shounen either of these shows should do the trick.
Theres a couple things different in Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! the main character is weak but grows stronger as the story begins and the beging of Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn! is slow. The similarities is there is a lot of action, comedy, just a drop of romance, and lots of adventure in both. If you liked the action, and comedy in One Piece then you will love Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!
Both anime's are about the main character who wants to complete his goal and has its own kind of way of making it. During that journey he makes new friends who will help to reach this goal. Also both anime's include good fighting scene's.
A) The main character is only serious when he is defending his friends and loved ones.
B) Young upstarts disturbing the established rules.
C) The main characters are the leaders of their respective "criminal" enterprises. But they tend to not do anything very criminal at all.
D) A small group of very powerful members that want to have fun, which tends to get them in all sorts of bad situations.
E) Looking to become the Top Boss of the entire organization(all pirates/all mafia) Although Tsuna is more reluctant than Luffy.
In Gintoki's Japan, the arrival of the various space races known collectively as the Amanto ended the era of the samurai. The Amanto's highly advanced technology resulted in total conquest and a severe economic shift. Now, former samurai such as Gintoki scrape together whatever livelihood they can. Gintoki's profession of choice is that of a yorozuya: he'll complete any job for money. However, he’s unmotivated; and spending most of the day on the couch with the latest issue of Jump and a carton of Strawberry Milk is his preferred pastime. It turns out that his new unpaid employees, Shinpachi and Kagura, are going to interfere with his pastime even more than with his "work"! Of course, none of this means he has really given up on his samurai ideologies!
I find a lot of thing in Gintama that remembered me to One Piece, both are shounen, and they are very different but when i thought a bit more i found lot of things similar. Frist both of them have different sagas that don´t have a lot in common with the others, for get the main saga One piece and Gintama have a kind of short sagas, In One Piece that sagas have action and in Gintama had comedy, One Piece is basically action but it has a lot of comedy, Gintama is more comedy, but it had action in all the sagas. Both had a bit of drama (or a lot of drama, it depends of the person).
A curiosity when i saw Kagura hurt in the benizakura i remembered Nami hurted by Jango XD
They are a little diffrent, but they have both lots of action and epic fights. Gintama is a more episodic than One Piece though, but they are both filled with comedy and you will laugh your ass of more than one time with both of them and it's not very often they are serious, but when they are it's really kickass, and yet its refrshing that these two can make you laugh even in the most serious moment,
If you liked on of them you will surely enjoy the other.
This anime is not for people who do not have an open mind. They make hilarious parodies to real life events and other animes, while also throwing in thier own arcs that are amazing in itself. you can find dilemas in your real world life in this anime!
While very different on setting (One Piece being a grand adventure overseas in a magnificent fantasy world, and Gintama always taking place in the same town district, Kabukicho, and its surroundings) and focus (action with a dose of humor in One Piece; the opposite in Gintama), they both share something more important: they are epic and generally cheerful tales revolving about values like friendship, pride and justice, with each of them managing those themes on their own way.
Both One Piece and Gintama harbor huge casts of quaint, motley characters, each of them with their particular quirks and appeal. That, along with their interactions with each other and the humor involved, will make you care for these people as something more than drawings on a screen.
While the humor style is very different (One Piece goes for an universal approach with easy-going comedy while Gintama gives off more of a Japanese scent on it), there's no reason for you not to appreciate either once you've taken a liking for the characters.
If you have watched either of these and enjoyed them down to the core, and you are more interested in lots of fun and another awesome story rather than a similar plot, look no further!
if you like the crazy funny humor of one piece then you'll like gintama for sure that show will put a smie on your face :)
I can't begin to explain how similar these two are! Gintama and OP will both have you in stitches. One piece is more for the younger audience that wish to see more action 'most' of the time. Gintama has some shockingly amazing fight scenes but you have to be patient.
Either way, If you love comedy and epic fights. These two are the way to go!
The cast of characters are hilarious, adding both comedy and drama in certain parts and always with a touch of flare.
A mysterious monkey-tailed boy named Goku teams up with a teenage computer-wiz girl named Bulma to search for the mystic Dragon Balls. According to legend, whoever collects all 7 Dragon Balls will have any one wish granted. Join Goku in this hilarious anime masterpiece, as he races and battles to save the world from the forces of darkness. Who will find the balls first?
Both DB and OP are pretty laid-back shounen anime. They both have a prominent adventure feeling to them while keeping the fights powerful, and are true eye candy for the real fighting fans.
Both DB and OP are pretty laid-back shounen anime. They both have a prominent adventure feeling to them while keeping the fights powerful.
The hero travel over the world with their best friends searching for treasures and adventures having a lot of fun. & he likes to eat.
I think Dragon Ball is the de facto standard of shounen anime and it's a real classic in the genre. In my opinion One Piece tops Dragon Ball in almost every aspect so if you have already seen Dragon Ball you might have lots of fun and excitement with OP.Also if you watch One Piece then I definitely recommend checking Dragon Ball because it has great characters and exciting adventures.
Dragon Ball was the series that inspired One Piece's creator. You can see a lot of similarity between Goku and Luffy. Both are packed full of action and comedy - along with an insanely high number of episodes! Either enjoy the classic Dragon Ball, or watch a classic inspired modern One Piece. May shounen never end!
One Piece is Dragon Ball of nowadays for sure. I don't have to write more, do I? Anyway I recommend reading manga instead of watching anime
Drawn to the mystique of the unknown, Hunters travel the world in search of terrifying creatures, incredible riches, and unexplored lands. Gon Freecss is a naive-yet-determined young boy who aspires to join the ranks of these individuals, in order to find his missing father Ging - a master of the profession himself. To reach his goal, he partakes in the formidable Hunter Exam, a series of tests that push the participants to their physical and mental limits, with a Hunter License as the prize. During the exam Gon befriends vengeful Kurapika, doctor-to-be Leorio, and skilled assassin Killua, who have entered for their own reasons. But with the sinister Hisoka standing in their way, will Gon and his friends be able to succeed in obtaining their reward, or even escaping with their lives?
One Piece and Hunter X Hunter share the same depth of story with similar elements -- action, adventure, comedy -- ranging from light-hearted fun to gripping drama. Both series starts out with the main character gathering friends, and throughout the series the interaction between characters shows the depth of friendship they have. Both series have the same grand, epic adventure premise (Luffy to become the Pirate King, Gon to become a Hunter). Along the way they'll meet up with tough opponents, and through each challenge they become stronger Both series are easy to follow, but Hunter X Hunter is the more action-packed of the two.
One Piece and Hunter X Hunter are shounen anime where a strong character works towards his lifetime goal, growing along the way. Both have a long story that is sometimes interrupted for some fun ass kicking.
The protagonists in both series are very similar in moral and in heart. One Piece's Luffy and Hunter x Hunter's Gon both possess a natural simplicity that dictates their actions and outlook on life. They are both doers, keeping the big picture always in sight. Morally and ethically, both Gon and Luffy are one and the same. The drawing factor for many fans of these two series is the likeability of their main characters; both protagonists are enviably righteous and true, characteristics of which good people strive to achieve everyday. Fans of either one will undoubtedly find the enjoyment of the other.
The first thing to hit me about HxH was the similarity between Gon and Luffy. The two main male leads come across as very simple people who ask very little of life, but dedicate themselves to their friends and nakama.
The formula between HxH and One Piece is very similar - a band of seemingly unlikely heroes fighting against the odds towards their ultimate goal. They both blend together action, adventure and comedy and fans of one will definitely enjoy the other.
It's clear that One Piece's Luffy and Hunter X Hunter's Gon have many similarities. They are both simple minded and are extremely powerful when mad. Both of these anime series focus on epic battles and kept me wanting more. One Piece has been my favorite anime for quite some time without a rival. Hunter X Hunter stepped up to the plate and finally gave me a rival for my first choice. If you liked one you will for sure like the other, trust me.
Join the king of thieves Jing and his plumed partner Kir as they seek out the greatest treasures in the world - and steal them. From desert bandit fortresses to the innermost sanctums of kings and queens, if there's a magnificent treasure to be had, you can be sure Jing has his eyes (and later his hands) on it.
Both series have an excellent atmosphere of outlaw adventures, be it a bags of gold, being chased by law enforcers or glorious escapes from jail. Both series also have really outstanding character designs: even the secondary characters which don't appear on the screen for long are thought over and fun to see. You won't see a saw-nosed man other than in One Piece, but you could see a smoking cupid with rifle in Jing.
When I first saw Monkey D. Luffy, determined to make himself King of the Pirates, instantly I remembered Jing, the selfnamed King of Bandits. They travel over the world with their best friends searching for treasures and adventures having a lot of fun.
Both series have an excellent atmosphere of freedom from oppression, being chased by law enforcers or glorious escapes from jail.
They travel over the world with their best friends searching for treasures and adventures having a lot of fun.
Both series' main characters have carefree attitudes. They both travel the world in outlaw adventures, and are almost always underestimated as just "kids" to newcomers.
