In another universe, the Earth-like planet Queen Earth was laid to waste by the evil organization Dark Joker - a group that now has its eyes set on Earth itself. In an attempt to help themselves and the denizens of Dark Joker's next target, the leader of Queen Earth sent an emissary named Kanon to help find the one who will become the legendary Nurse Angel and save the two worlds. Hope now lies in the hands of Ririka, a young girl who will help put a stop to Dark Joker with her newly-bestowed powers. Can the Nurse Angel and Kanon succeed?
Life can be tough when you're a teenager. Enter Tsukino Usagi, an average, if somewhat clumsy, junior high student whose voracious appetite for sweets and capacity for tears are offset by her enthusiasm for life. Her normal existence is suddenly turned upside down when a talking cat named Luna comes into her life. Suddenly, Usagi finds herself with the ability to transform into the superhero known as Sailor Moon. Fighting the occasional monster may be the least of her worries, though...
Remember when you watched Sailor Moon on TV or VHS? Do you remember all the features it gave? Well, you'll find Nurse Angel Ririka SOS to almost mirror Sailor Moon. The glowing transformation sequences, the monster-of-the-week battles, the powerful sceptre, and the single powerful blow to defeat the enemy. Roles are black and white. Even the enemies seem to show similarity in that they are bishounen characters that are truly devoted to the "dark side". I think if you liked Sailor Moon, you'll like Nurse Angel Ririka - and vice versa. Scenarios in each episode have the same "feel" and are presented in the same nature. Also, the main character appears "slow" and "love sick" in both anime. Watch one, and I bet you'll love the other.
