Both have the main character later in life find out their a demon and both slay demons. both they hide their true selfs from their friends these plenty of action in them

korei14

Both of these anime have main characters who turn out to be demons. The main character in these two then try to hide the fact that they are a demon from their friends. The main characters also fight against other demons. Also, both Nurarihyon no Mago and Ao no Exorcist have some exorcists. Some exorcists are after the main character.

chii

Both shows are filled to the top full of demons, have lead characters fighting to further understand themselves and protect those around them that they hold dear. Check one out if you liked the other.

WickedHipsterPink

Like others said, both of these anime have a crap ton of demons in them. Along with that, they're both pretty typical shonen anime, with similar character types and a good amount of action.

wargol

they're both about demons fighting the good fight with nice superpowers.

they both have a young protagonist that discovers his demon powers at the beginning, learns to fight with it and defeats a major endboss at the end.

Zarrokian

Both involve a boy who is born as part demon and doesnt want to aknowledge that part of themselves until they are forced to.

Sasukefanx12

Both of these anime center around a young boy who is part demon and part human. He goes through the story making it his mission to save his friends and kill the evil demons while hiding his true nature (more so in Nurarihyon). There is also a deeper, more sinister under-plot in each one that the characters must become powerful enough to stop.

Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!

Bleach09

both anime follow the daily routines of 2 young and unwilling successors to massive and powerful groups.  although in the beginning they hate the very idea of succeding the group they eventually find themselves involuntarily fighting for the very group themselves and before they know it they are setting up the foundation for their future succession.

funtoo2

At first both main characters, Rikuo, from Nurarihyon no Mago, and Tsuna, from Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!, are unwilling to become the successor of their family whom hold tremendous power; Rikuo with the yokai, and Tsuna with the mafia. But as the show goes on, both characters find themselves in countless battles, struggling to protect what they cherish most, and along the way they gradually accept their position as successor. I recommend both of these animes, they're fantastic! If you love action, the supernatural (powers and stuff), comedy, and a little romance, this show is for you!

shakal802

Both anime features who refuse to accept the heir of their organization. However, with the same resolve to protect the ones they care for, they both eventually take on the will to fight. Tsuna and Rikuo are two very similar characters and unviel plots that seem quite similar between the two.

snivets

Both of these shows feature a reluctant hero who has the ability to transform into a more powerful version of himself in order to fight for his family, friends, & way of life. The chibi Mafia members and the caricatured demons add a similar deadly cuteness into the mix.

Kekkaishi

Kekkaishi

Sumimura Yoshimori is a Kekkaishi – an inheritor of the power to battle demons, using barriers called kekkai. His family is charged with protecting the grounds of Karasumori high school, a building which magnifies the power of demons who enter it. Helping him are his spirit-wolf companion Madarao, and next door-neighbor Yukimura Tokine, the daughter of a rival clan. Years ago, Tokine was injured protecting Yoshimori, and now he is determined to become strong enough to keep her from being hurt again. Of course, he'd rather bake his exquisite cakes than have to fight demons at all, but fate has something else in store! As a shadowy demon organization moves to steal Karasumori's power, can Yoshimori overcome legions of demons, a centuries-old family rivalry, and a grandfather who just can't understand his love for baking?

Szwagier

Both shows are shounen battle animes, dealing mainly with monsters from japaneese folklore. Whether the enemy is called yokai or ayakashi it makes small difference, since they are spirits/monsters either way.

In both cases the main character is a power user coming from a very distinguished lineage of power users. Whether it's the grandson of  the strongest youkai (Nurarihyon no Mago) or heir of the strongest barrier technique users family (Kekkaishi) both main characters are very reluctant to continue "family traditions". While circumstances pull them into the fights with monsters, they still try to lead a normal life, and hope for a normal future.

The main difference is that in Kekkaishi all monsters are on the bad guys side, while in Nurarihyon no Mago there are good monsters and bad monsters.

NoxShadow

Both shows are kinda kiddish and revolve around middle schoolers fighting evil demons, while dealing with normal middle school life. They hide from their classmates even in cases that they're directly involved in! Also the animation style is similar most of the time.(Nurarihyon gets stylized sometimes)  In both cases, there are good and bad demons as well as obvious enemies.

either way, they share the same cute charm and similar types of demons that can be equally creepy and hilarious.

Meelkor

These two series have many common aspects. There are normal humas fighting demons. There are demons who looks like human but they true look is different. There is a bit school life as well. And demons looks really alike in both series. And both are full of action.

Natsume Yuujinchou

Natsume Yuujinchou

Natsume is lonely; he has an ability that separates him from others: he can see and interact with spirits. Soon, however, Natsume discovers that he’s not alone: his grandmother Reiko also had the gift. But things get hectic and possibly dangerous for Natsume when he finds out that he also inherited the 'Book of Friends', a book that contains the names of all the spirits Reiko defeated and subjugated. He finds himself hounded by his grandmother's underlings and, with the help of a 'cat' charm spirit, decides to free them from the Book's shackles, as well as protect the book from those who seek to misuse its power...

KazekageGarra

Both anime are about the youki and their inherited powers. Both have a very good storyline and interesting characters that help them along. Natsume Yuujinchou is more episodic and less action than Nurarihyon no Mago.

eaper

If you want two series with completely different feels and presentations but a similar message and a few similar characters, these are a good match. Each series centeres around someone that is commited to helping yokai and humans get along, stuck inbetween two worlds.

Shiraiyuki

They are both about a boy that everyday has strong interactions with the ayakashi, but struggles to be more human-like. In both animes the main character has more powers than he appears to have; he also has many allies; has a lot of powerfull people protecting him. Both main characters nature are very similar; they're both very kind and brave and always help others regardeless of the danger.

I stongly recomend both of them.

D.N.Angel

D.N.Angel

For Niwa Daisuke, turning 14 should be accompanied by romance and the promise of new adventures into adulthood, but instead comes with a surprising revelation: all male children of the Niwa's bloodline inherit the powers (alter ego) of Dark, a phantom thief, upon their 14th birthday! Now, in addition to his ever-present quest to win the heart of his childhood friend Risa, Daisuke must commit acts of thievery (with his doppelganger Dark controlling his body), to steal mysterious pieces of art for unknown purposes. For Daisuke, his growing pains are just beginning!

If you liked either Nurarihyon no Mago or D.N.Angel, you would probably also like the other based upon a few simple factors: both share the elements of comedic relief, and both main characters deal with a type of "alter ego." They are both enjoyable series to watch! Enjoy!

Aiedail

The atmosphere while watching both is so similar! A main character is a young, nice guy and can transform into older man witch superpowers. Both have a "femme fatale" classmate, lots of friends around. Both main protagonists try to live normal live athough they have some kind of not really normal problem:D If you liked one you will for sure like the other, because it has same king of humor, some love to it, a lot of action, a weir grandpa, magic powers and much more.
