Both of these anime center around high school girls that discover they hold mysterious powers. I can see similar distinctions between both of them. Both are reverse harem anime and I'm sure if you like one you will like the other.

If you've watched either Angelique or Pretear then I strongly recommend you watching the other one. The two have the same kind characters and ideas that make them both great. Both of the main characters are girls who think that they're not special in any way and can't be of help to anyone - plus they're surrounded by guys that are sworn to protect them and fight alongside them. In Pretear the story is more comical - but in both anime are genres of shoujo, magic, romance and comedy. In both Angelique and Pretear you'll find yourself cheering the main character on as she attempts to fulfill her duty and make sturdy relationships with the characters.

If you enjoyed either Pretear or Neo Angelique Abyss - then the other is a MUST see!

Both series feature a girl who is a special chosen one who is at first reluctant to take on her new role. Both protagonists are also surrounded by men who are destined to protect her and they have a similar group dynamic in both series. The team has to fight monsters using their powers, and the lead girl has discover her inner power to protect her new friends.

Both are targeted mainly at a teen female audience and focus on a female protagonist with a special power. Both females have to be protected by a group of good looking male characters with powers and/or excellent fighting abilities. Both anime are reverse harems with romance, fantasy and supernatural elements. They were also originally otome games. There are differences such as setting (one is set in Japan and the other a fictional fantasy world which might not appeal to some people) but if you like one of them then it is highly likely the other will appeal to you.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de ~Ajisai Yumegatari~

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de ~Ajisai Yumegatari~

Azusa was a normal high school student, until she was sucked down a well into a fantasy world full of monsters, demons, and surprises. Dubbed the priestess of the land of Kyou, she found herself joined by the Hachiyou, a group of people with magical powers, dedicated to protecting the priestess and the land. But all does not bode well for Azusa, as the demon Akuram wishes to claim her power for evil purposes. In addition, a malicious spirit is ravaging the townspeople, stealing their life energy! A day's work is never done for the priestess and her companions, it seems.

Harukanaru and Angelique are both tales of a young girl in a fantasy world inhabited by demons and bishie men. Each is equally as vacuous, in my opinion, but otherwise should appeal to the same audiences.

One day a girl finds hidden powers in herself and decides to use them to bring peace and happiness to the world. Although both Ellis from Night Wizard and Angelique from Neo Angelique Abyss are quite naive, they are true to their beliefs and make sure they won't stray from the chosen path. Also, they both are surrounded by friends who deeply care about them and are ready to sacrifice themselfs in order to save the girls.

However, there's a catch - in time, the human will be overcome by the Chain's power and then thrown into the deepest level of the Abyss. When Oz wakes up in the Abyss he is quickly attacked by hungry Chains, only to be saved by one named Alice - a Chain who appeared just before he was thrown into the prison. Together, the two make a contract and return to the real world, where they are enlisted into the Pandora organization - a group researching both the Abyss and the trio that threw Oz into it.  Along with members of Pandora, the duo searches to find Alice's lost memory fragments that are scattered throughout the world, to discover the secrets of the Abyss, and to determine if there's a way their contract can be broken without killing either Oz or Alice.

Like Neo Angelique Abyss, Pandora Hearts features supernatural creatures that the heroes must fight. There is also political intrigue, and characters have to deal with their pasts. Friendships and serving someone also come up in Pandora Hearts.
