Six months have passed since Rayne, Hyuga, Angelique and Jade were betrayed by Nyx and watched both him and their mansion burn to the ground. Arcadia is now in ruin, Thanatos is growing stronger, and the Aube Hunters - who have been missing for some time - are now seen as scapegoats for the destruction of the land. Teito Klein is a former slave who attends the Barsburg Empire's military academy. Having no memory of his past and the power to wield a rare ability called Zaiphon, Teito is constantly under the scrutiny of his peers - except for his best friend Mikage, the only person he connects with. After seeing and remembering the man who killed his father, Teito tries to kill him and finds himself on the run from Barsburg's military might. Now, with the evil beings known as Kor after his soul, the Barsburg Empire after his blood and only the legendary Seven Ghosts to protect him, Teito must unlock the memories of his past before he ends up as a sacrifice for Verloren, the sealed God of Death.
Both shows involve mostly male characters, and deal with tightly bound relationships. There are many emotional issues, and people have to make tough choices/sacrifices. Also, both shows demonstrate the hardship of battling darkness, even within your friends or inside yourself.
It is the early 1920s, and New York City has a problem of evil proportions – demons. With devil worshipping on the rise, foul spirits and monsters have begun to surface, causing fear and panic in their wake. Combating this threat is the Magdalene Order – a group of religious officials charged with exorcising the evil that is spreading throughout the city. Rosette Christopher is a young nun who takes on missions alongside her contracted partner – a young demon named Chrono. Now it is up to this unlikely pair to wield God’s power – and plenty of holy bullets – to destroy the menace in front of them and confront the demons of their past.
If you like either of these I think you'll definitely like the other. They both have a complex and captivating plot and the they are so beautiful but so sad. Both of the main characters are wrapped in decisions that are easy to decide but hard to carry out. Both of these made me cry a lot but they are some some the best anime I've seen.

They reveal to her that she's a Pretear, someone who can lend powers to them when their powers aren’t enough to defeat the evil creatures called mayouchuu. Now, she has to fight the ambitious Fenrir, whose only purpose is to leech the life force from all living beings. Can Himeno save the world and find a way to deal with her growing feelings for one of the Liefe Knights?
