X-men is basically an American shounen action series. X-men is aimed at the exact same demographic as shounen action and shounen action shows are always about a group of people with superhuman powers (Jutsu) similar to X-men. So if you like shounen action anime or X-men you should check out the other.

The best way to describe yakitate is Naruto meets Julia Child. His attitude, her skill. However Yakitate also has references to bill clinton, lord of the rings (#68) etc. It never takes itself seriously as opposed to naruto. Yakitate also has some very real cooking/baking information... you have to watch the last 15 secs of each episode.. as well.
