the stories in both shows are much different in themes but are similar in somewhat way. Naruto is about a boy who is a child of prophecy destined to bring revolution in the ninja world whereas villains and his friend play the role to thwart and would involve more characters it and Code Geass is about a boy who would launch a rebellion and change the world with his power which would involve obstacles in his path including his best friend and his sworn enemy, his father. Both shows have characters who conceal their identities (Lelouch-Zero and Pain and Tobi) who will plot to bring peace but Pain and Tobi have more in common with Schneizel and Charles). Naruto's friendship with Sasuke is similar to Lelouch and Suzaku since they later end up becoming enemies due to being polar opposites. If you can look closely there are similarities in each characters:

Naruto and Sasuke-Lelouch and Suzaku

Sakura-Kallen

Karin and Kyuubi-C.C.

Tobi-Charles/Lelouch

Pain-Schneizel/Lelouch

Shikamaru-with Lelouch's IQ

Itachi-with Lelouch's sibling love

Danzo-Lelouch's ends justify the means

Madara-mysterious plot

Akatsuki-Black Knights in a twisted view

Plot are different but both have dark tone, drama, comedy, twists, and epic storyline with awesome character developments. The only difference is that Naruto deals with magic, supernatural powers, weapons, and warriors whereas Code Geass deals with Mecha most of the time and technology. They both have methological situation but Code Geass brings it to a bigger scale.

Both shows are mission based involving beings with supernatural powers. Both characters Naruto and Dante do enjoy food (Ramen and Strawberry Sundae) and have complex relationship with other characters but other than that they both have demonic powers. On the other hand, Sasuke who is silent and would later turn evil has the same tone that Dante has due to their presence. Plus as for demon hunting, Dante and Akatsuki hunt demons but with opposing views (Dante-for good and Akatsuki-for evil and anti villain purposes) and their character designs are similar as well. Trish also voices Konan whereas Dante voices 4th Hokage. The relationship between Zabuza and Haku are similar to Dante and Patty. Both are action packed and have moments that are funny and dramatic. Devil May Cry however is a side story pertaining to the main story whereas Naruto picks where it left off but there are side stories involved as well. Some of the powers in Naruto are similar to Devil May Cry but in the main stories as well (Video Games notable in 3 and 4) For the tone of the story, Devil May Cry tends to be more serious whereas Naruto blends seriousness, comedy, and drama all into one.

Naruto Shippuden and D.Gray-man have many similarities. Primarily, their main characters are very similar. Both are cursed and contain great power, and are motivated to save lives. Each of them ends up on a great quest, which potentially has world altering significance. Both series also contain similar tones and humor.

I can, without hesitation, recommed D.Gray-man to watchers of Naruto Shippuden and vice versa.

Fate/stay night

Fate/stay night

The Holy Grail War is a battle between seven magicians who each summon a mythical hero to fight for their cause. Shirou, a twice orphaned high school boy, had so little magical talent that his foster father did not bother teaching him about the war and its meaning. Thanks to that lack of foresight, Shirou finds himself in a bit of a pinch when he accidentally summons a hero of the strongest class, and is sucked into the fray. The Grail grants the winner any wish they have. But driven by an unyielding sense of justice and self-sacrifice, for what will Shirou fight?

Both Naruto and FSN have what's important: a good story and lots of action. The main characters, Sabre and Naruto, become involved in many conflicts which bring out emotion and have an effect on everyone around them. These are great anime for action and quest lovers.

Naruto may be inspired by DBZ but not just DBZ but other series like FF for example. Naruto and FF have swordplay, magic, setting almost similar, law of physics, and technology. Both have heroes who are hired for missions and villains who want to change the world with ambitions as well as supernatural powers that can impact the plot forever.

There are Final Fantasy 7 references in Naruto as both series are set in a fictional setting:

-Zabuza and Cloud having big swords

-Sakura and Tifa with their fist smashing powers

-Madara and Sephiroth with their giant meteorite and antagonism

-Sasuke's hairstyle similar to Zack Fair

-speaking of which, another Nomura's game Kingdom Hearts also has similarities with Naruto
