Ah, the troubles of high school life. On the outside both series seem very peaceful and energetic, but slowly they unfold into very well done slice-of-life romances. Shuffle and Myself; Yourself do an excellent job on portraying how each character has their own personal problems and how they deal with them along with the rest of the cast. For those who like slice-of-life and drama mixed in with a bit of comedy and great character developement make sure to watch both of these!

wolfangel87 wolfangel87 says...

There is trouble with high school life in Myself; Yourself and Shuffle; also with the relationship problems the characters face with each other. They both spend a great deal of time portraying the main characters personal problems and how they try and deal with the situations they find themselves in while being slightly comical throughout.

Myself; Yourself and Sola start off innocent with a school romance quickly turning into a much more dramatic form of events and psychological tests for the main characters. Sola is more of a fantasy based drama whereas Myself; Yourself takes on a more realistic feel.

triplestrike triplestrike says...

Myself; Yourself pushes deep into darker subjects than Sola does however both  dabble with building a story and then revealing more as the end becomes closer. Both worth watching but for different reasons.

Very good anime ... Both are about love and some dramatic situation in the past ... Main characters are similar and its very good if u watched Myself Yourself u won't be dissapointed about Kima Ga Nozomu Eien Im recommending this anime cause its realy good. Dramatic action is very interesting

I highly recommend Rumbling hearts to fans of Myself;Yourself (vice versa) because both shows ring true to the Drama and Romance genre. There is a HUGE emphasis on trauma brought from past tragedies and it greatly affects the flow of the story. The main protagonists carry deep scars which they try to slowly heal through learning to love and care for someone. Rumbling Hearts and Myself;Yourself can both be considered a bit 'darker' than other shows of the same genre depending on your view of which sins/offenses are horrible. The main protagonists in both shows face off a very huge hurdle which they must get past in order to provide realism and depth to the plot.

A Bridge to the Starry Skies

A Bridge to the Starry Skies

Kazuma and his little brother Ayumu have arrived at the countryside, eager to begin a new life at the Yorozuyo Inn – a place that Kazuma once visited as a child. There's fresh air, running water and relaxation – a perfect place for the sickly Ayumu to recover. But the pair's arrival is anything but uneventful, what with getting lost, Kazuma meeting and accidentally kissing the lovely Ui in the woods, and enraging her protective friend Ibuki in the process! Now, with a less than ideal first impression on his new classmates and more beautiful women popping up around him each day, Kazuma certainly has his hands full with misunderstandings and budding romances!

Both shows have the same initial setting: the protagonist lived in a village before having to move away to a city, and has to move back for various reasons. They also have a childhood friend that they initially forget/don't recognise.

However, Myself;Yourself has a bigger focus on drama, while Hoshizora focuses on comedy.

Not blazing any new trails for either. But both are very heartwarming and have their own quirks that make them enjoyable to watch.

The Air Movie and Myself; Yourself deal with real life problems and a harem type of relationship angst. The Air Movie, however, involves a magical arc to the story but the main line of it deals with the relationship between the main characters on a daily basis. In the end viewers will get the feeling that the love interests chosen will stay with each other forever.

A tentative recommendation, however both are dramas that deal with the themes of suicide, and responsibilities to parents/work... Myself, Yourself is more heavily romance and doesnt have the humour, nor is it as 'complex' as NHK.

These series are two of the more prominent series within their genres, and for good reason. Both of these series bring something to their anime that make them excel and stand out from all their other competitors, and that is what brings these series together, the fact that they are both unique.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion

In the future, a devastating event known as Second Impact has destroyed Tokyo as we know it, giving rise to Tokyo III - a city under siege by mysterious lifeforms known only as Angels. Mankind's only line of defense are the Evangelions, a set man-made machines piloted by a trio of fourteen year-old teenagers, Rei, Shinji, and Asuka. The fate of Japan and the entire world now lie with these three children, though they might not have the power to save the most important thing of all: each other.

I think this is one of the weirdest recommendations I've ever made. The story is complete different, the genres are completely different. But still I think there will be a little group of people feel the same about it. This recommendation only goes for people who are searching for the meaning of an anime. And the meaning of these anime's are: “Life is not so worse if you think” I don't know about that however this is the morality behind both of the series and if you are searching for this, than this couple is perfect for it. Enjoy.
