Humanity is on the brink of extinction after a devastating space war. Vicious packs of mercenaries known as "Vultures" comb Earth's remains for weapons, supplies, or anything else to give them power. Young Garrod Ran, an orphan of the war, is hired to rescue a kidnapped girl. But in time, he discovers that his target is a powerful enhanced human called a "Newtype" who is set to be the target of terrible and inhumane experiments. Now, Garrod and his new friends must escape, while trying to save the human race from repeating its mistakes yet again.
